Thanks ...very illuminating .....but you did nopt have to post this to convince anyone that viewed the game .I viewed the game and it was a pathetic showing .IMO nothing was gained by this game .No chemistry established ,no cohesiveness established ,etc .Hopefully ,Coach Harper gained something from this game that she can use to help prepare them for an opponent in Top 25 .

Pathetic that our players use a poster on VolNation as an incentive:

Saunders got extended minutes like posters here have begged for and she did absolutely nothing. What is it goooood for? Lol

But then again, inspiration to prove naysayers wrong has been a motivation for me my entire life,,,,so fuel us on!

Saunders got extended minutes today too and she earned them and made an impact today. And I predict this will continue!

In her 15 minutes she was 1-2 from the field for 2 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Just curious from your coaching perspective, how did she impact the game?

Not all of our opponents will be Top 25 opponents m. You will have teams like Ole Miss and Alabama who are not ranked but are looking to turn their programs around. Overlooking teams like them and Florida could be disasterous! So i hope Kellie gained something she can use in genera moving forward.

the answer's in your question..."In her 15 minutes she was 1-2 (shot 50%) from the field for 2 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal", she also had 1 assist and no turnovers and her interior presence stopped a lot of drives into the paint.

I am quite proud of her really....she made the best of an opportunity.
Can she score more, YES
but instead of going in there and trying not to make a mistake (like she usually does),,, she went in there and tried to make things happen
I (and @gule) have waited for this gentle giant to wake up for a while...Happy she did what she did

Just because it is a blog does not mean people can abandon manners and good taste.
Rickster...are you new to the internet? I'm aware it's a bad look for the community, but please. You kinda of have two choices here. More restrictive moderation and less involvement. I personally love the freedom of expression here. Because a player is aware of this community's existence and has engaged in the realm of media shouldn't create such a kerfuffle. I'm all aboard for good manners and good taste, I just don't acclaim to be such an arbiter. And this is a call close to the line. Let it go.

No, I'm not new to the internet. One look at my join date should tell you that I've been here more than a month. People need to police themselves and be prepared to get called out when they say something inappropriate. You want free speech...there you go and it didn't cost you a penny. I want responsible speech.

Big WIN today. Great for team chemistry. Your turn Lipscomb come get you some!!

I want responsible speech and opinions with supporting statistics too. If you're judging your opinion on the eye test and state thusly, that keeps me happy. But to harass a youth or someone incapable of maintaining decorum seems to be assuming...imho.

...and from my perspective, 2006 is new to the internet.

In the post game it sounds like coach really really likes this team. I think we might see some special things from them this season. After the way Indiana played today I feel even better about that win. This is a great season to make some noise. Our head coach seems calm and adaptable and that bodes well for our team. This season can change at a moments notice. Teams that make the adjustment will do the best. So far we’ve done very well rolling with the punches. Wish we could get the WV game back.

Tell Tess that..she just had her best game as a Lady Vol!!! SMH.

Sheesh, some of ya'll are taking the game today way, way too seriously. This was basically a B team scrimmage. I'm really glad alot of the bench players got extended minutes, sorry McCoy was not available to get some p.t.

I'm glad KJH is not Kim Mulkey and thought she approached this game with class. Glad she didn't grind them into the dirt, which of course, she could have. I'm sure it was a little difficult for the players to know how to approach the game, naturally they're not going to be locked in like they were playing for a natty.

I don't think much was lost or gained, just an op for a game. Would never have happened outside of the calamity that is 2020.

As far as players reading posts here, they shouldn't. She who fishes for insults is very likely to catch them. No one here has any special insight or knowledge that would make our criticisms or analysis helpful in any way. Definitely not worth your precious time as a student athlete.

If for some misguided reason our comments here provide motivation, that is best kept private. Under no circumstances should there be direct engagement with fans on social media. That never ends well, just ask Evina Westbrook's Mom.

All that said, I'm glad Emily is getting to play some. I'm sure she works as hard as anyone in practice and it was painful seeing her not even getting mop up time last year. Don't know if she'll actually contribute or not, but Lord knows, we need a miracle at post. I sure wouldn't leave any stone unturned looking for help, especially in a game like this.

I think you are wrong! I think for sure Kellie will be embarrassed before the season is over...

Every coach on planet Earth gets "embarrassed" at least once in a season

How about Rennie and Salary combining for 9 assists and 0 turnovers. Nice to see from the reserve guards!

Rennie looked the best she has looked on defense today. She moved laterally better than I have seen her move...I hope she turns this opportunity into less fear on pulling the trigger in shooting

I am sure Mr. Dave Lipscomb will allow her those opportunities.

Much like KJH, Mulkey played her bench extensively in those two blowout wins. I don't see the problem with the bench going for the jugular. I wish Tennessee had done the same. I think it hurts the players when you ask them to not play hard against overmatched teams. When the bench comes in, they shouldn't be expected to take it easy.. Play hard, play your game and let the outcome be what it will be.

Does that mean you see her capable of competitive minutes against SEC teams?

In comparison, North Carolina beat UNCG 96-35. That’s what happens when a team shoots 56% from the field and 45% on threes.
