Vandy isn't average competition. They're absolutely horrible. Easily the worst team in the conference.
I was hoping the Auburn game was an aberration from a young team. Two uninspired home games in a row before heading into this four game stretch is more than a little concerning....
Really...who did she leave her? The Baby Vols graduated! She left a tradition, not a solid team...please name the treasure holly inherited and what they are doing now!You are out of your mind. I'd take Stephanie White over Holly any day of the week.
Holly is lucky being the coach of Tennessee. Pat Summitt left her literally a treasure chest.
And, how much "big dance" coaching experience do you have? ...crickets...teams have bad spots but win with defense. They learn to not lose.Vandy shot insanely well from South Knoxville tonight! Maybe you should go back and watch some mid season championship TN seasons...they were seldom beautiful. We mastered winning when not playing well; we did that very well tonight. It is a grind. We are young. We are learning, finding ways, making it happen, every win is that...a stepping stone, a success. Lady Vols never stopped fighting. I saw Holly consult Westbrook on replay ( i was there) and grab her, basically saying " stay focused". I never saw anyone give up. I think...to quote Holly's favorite line.."that speaks volumes" about this team. We get everyones best shot...and yet, no one has beaten us...and winning the hard ones Speaks Volumes come tournament time. I beat Dawn wishes her team had the same fightI dont know how much coaching experience you have, however, playing down to a bad, or average, teams level can affect you adversely when you go to the big dance or during the SEC tourney. A let down to any team can mean a quick end to the big dance. That is why the great teams bring it every game no matter who they play, they throw nothing in the trash or take nothing for granite. I think we always hold our own against teams ranked in the top 25.
That was an entertaining game! Especially the 4th quarter.
Cheers to Mercedes for her career high 33 points! Same for Cheridene with her career high 17 points!
With SC losing hopefully The LVs move up into the top 5 this week.
Love love love that sequence and love EWs support and enthusiasm from the bench. I take back my DD comparison!
But Hayes played fantastic in the PG role.

Well, this game was one of those games. Jamie and Evina were off their shooting games (Evina being way off); LVs missed a number of makeable shots at the rim; and at least six times, LVs butterfingered the ball out of bounds.
And Vandy shot 10 from 20 from the behind the arc (and many of those misses happened late in the 4th quarter). Of course, the LVs lost their marks on several of the made shots but Vandy also bombed some in from waaay deep.
And on the woe may be us, Evina picked up a 4th foul early in the 3rd so this was having the look of an upset in the making. But Hayes played fantastic in the PG role, Mercedes and Green dominated the paint and the LVs showed a formidable press that we have not seen in quite a while.
The guard situation is what it is for right now, but I would think next season Hayes is the starting PG and Evina moves to off guard. Both are more than capable at point but it seems more natural for Hayes
Last two games have had some shaky moments but the team did what they had to do to win. Murderers row begins shortly.
i have said this from day one Evina needs to move to the two it will help her offensive game and shooting procentage, I don`t think it`s to late When Hayes comes in just move Evina to the two.

That has been the case when they both are in together, Evina allows Annie to bring it up and run the offense.
Yesterday was the first time I saw Evina get rattled running the offense and let her offense affect her defense. With that being said the girl still had 5 assists in limited action versus 2 turnovers. I think she runs the team well and gets it into their sets when the transition game has broken down. In looking at her two turnovers they were both mishandled by the person she was passing it to. One Jaime didnt come to meet the ball the other Annie mishandled the ball on a fast break opportunity and lost it then green couldnt get to it. She still contributed 5 rebounds and a steal in that time so it was a decent stat line for limited minutes.
I like how she and Annie play off one another! Neither cares who scores I think they may care who gets the assist tho and I can live with that 😁
Thanks for pointing this out - Evina still made a valuable contribution! Also love how she and Anastasia play off each other.
Green is a great communicator on defense. The sub of Green for Davis was a good one. Rennia looked a bit confused by not getting out to shooters. I think when gains the concepts and she stops second guessing herself her versatility and length will cause major math up problems.
Green is getting into better shape and getting her b-ball IQ back up to par is gonna pay divedends this year AND NEXT.
Jaime has been hurt-- held out of practice since the Auburn game. She wants to play, and they haven't been able to limit her minutes because the games have been so close. I hope she's okay for this brutal stretch of games coming up. Not sure how much they can rest her or Mercedes.
The problem is Evina made it clear from day one that she wants to be the point and why would you put your best passer in a position that were she does not have the ball in her hands at all times
