Game Thread: Tennessee (15-8, 8-3 SEC) versus No. 1 South Carolina (23-0, 10-0) @ Food City Center, 2/15, 7:00 PM (EST), ESPN

Is it not odd that sc started playing there game with 3 minutes left to play this game was set up to make tn not to look bad sc hasn’t been playing there game till now

We got pushed around inside, we aren’t nowhere near a top 10 team. We gave effort tonight but we are lacking at so many levels. Our point guard needs coaching and discipline in her game. Our team doesn’t play with a high basketball IQ and that is a reflection of the coach.
Powell is a 5th year senior that’s always played this way, so guess all of her coaches are to blame, that’s just who she is.

Disappointing. SC was there to be had. They were only 2 of 9 from 3 and awful 8 of 16 on free throws. But, the LV's scored only 7 points in the fourth quarter, and that is not going to do it against an excellent team.
While it's a team loss, some players contributed more to the loss than others.
What happened to Spear ?
0 of 8 in fg's. Zero points.
Powell played hard but was out of control on way too many possessions. 4 of 17 in fg's including 0 of 5 from 3.
Puckett had an excellent game. Kudos to her. Jackson kept the team in the game until SC decided double team her and there was no alternative.
What could have been.

Powell and Jackson were the only ones keeping us in this game f or 3 quarters!
At some point cars run out of gas

Powell rebounded well and she played hard---but she was 4-17, 1 assist, 3 TOs, second lowest efficiency rating on the team---only Spear was worse. Our guards do not lack talent--but they were terrible on the the offensive end tonight. Had they had even a halfway decent shooting night, this game would have been very close.

Dumbest post of the night.. they competing with South Carolina.

It’s not like Tennessee played a flawless game.

some of the players on SC team got serious attitude issues.

That ain’t going to fly come tournament time. That team will lose game(s) so they better hope it comes before March Madness.

Got away with fouling for the entire 2nd half and Tennessee wasn’t even allowed to contest shots.
That attitude they have is a WINNING attitude. It's something the Lady Vols need to acquire.

Props to Staley. She nailed it in the interview to start the 4th. Said they would need to start throwing doubles on Rickea. She knew our other players couldn’t beat them.

If Spear had put up half that 30 piece a poster was bragging was going to happen.

Then this would have been a different outcome..

ßrecruit more talent But we played about as well as we could given who we had [/QUOTE said:
Well, no.

We can shoot much better. Even some players shooting well their average could still have won the game.

Sara Puckett was probably my unsung player of the game. She played very hard and was quite disruptive on defense.
I personally thought she played the best game for Tennessee. Her points were quiet, but she was very smart in how she got them. Rickea had to work way harder for every point she put up on the scoreboard
