Game Thread: Tennessee (15-9, 8-4 SEC) @ Vanderbilt (19-7, 6-6 SEC) 2/18/24 2:00 pm EST SEC Network

I'm 69 and been following UT for decades....who died and made you the board warden? And I'll criticize and call a spade a spade when I see fit....Without your permission.
Nobody is judging the entirety of the program based on a win over Vanderbilt, but there's also no reason to refuse to take joy in it.

Serious question: What outcome today would have satisfied you?

Nothing but positives from this game. The LVs had their best shooting night in a long while and they kept the defensive intensity they showed against SC. The refs bailed Vandy out on several blocks by TK and some other solid defensive plays or else the score would have been more lopsided.
Took control and never looked back. Squelched all of Vandy's runs (which they have not always done this season).

Hoping that this game is the return to form for RJ. Her stat line looked like pre-injury Rickea (24 pts on 11-15, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists).

Excellent play from all three guards.

I think the LVs are meeting LSU at the right time.

We'll see...And yes you win the games you are playing but you don't measure your team on beating an unranked Vandy. Now ...UConn...ND...Stanford...LSU...USC...Texas...UNC are different stories. And Thursday night proved nothing but that we lost at home...,You must be into moral victories. Losing on your home court by 11 means zilch...other than a loss against a team with a pulse.
Also how many ranked teamed have we beaten

Justine does a lot standing around just like she did here and her defense is no better either

She has to be willing to work. No one is going to give you anything. it's like she wants to stand out at the 3 line and shoot without getting into the nitty gritty parts of the game. She doesn't move. She goes to the corner and waits hoping for the ball. She did the exact same thing here. She could be a good player if she decided to develop a dribble off the 3 and drive to the basket, or even a midrange jumper, or want to out work others for the rebound. She could be a really good player, but it seems she doesn't have the mental fortitude YET to want to develop into that player.

Where did I say it wasn't a good win? Find it....It was posted here by a poster that another balloon is pooping (yes pooping) on the fire Kellie crowd...Really, because the LVs were beating a unranked Vandy team! So this is how the team is measured now....So, when a poster makes that kind of comment/post I will respond to it if I see it...It's odd there are so many that are bigger fans of the coach than they are the program...Coaches get paid a million...or millions, they aren't above being questioned.

Beating LSU won’t be a big deal since we beat them last year, I remember everyone on here saying they weren’t a good team and won by luck, and this year they weren’t good because of their weak schedule and hate for Reese, just keep the same opinion and dont give them any credit now.
Not everyone

I just don’t believe u need depth to win it all, u just need a bench player to step up when it’s needed and that’s not every game, just look how LSU won last year, barely any bench production until it was needed.
Their bench player (Jasmine Carson) literally set the tone for the championship game. Without her, they don't win.

The best use of a bench player is someone who brings a Plan B (in the case of Carson, as a long range sniper). Their current bench doesn't do that as much, other than the fact that Del Rosario is a huge bruiser who can bring physicality, but she's not the inside scorer/rebounder that Reese or Morrow is, and she just pushes them further away from the basket if she's in the game with both of them and sacrifices a more efficient perimeter scorer (Morrow will take the shots, but not make them at the same clip).

We’re not, USC is just keeping games close till about 5 minutes left in fourth quarter then they turn it on then beat you by 15 points or so. Did with us and did it with Georgia today. I think they doing it so it don’t look bad for other teams
Looks from the play by play that she let her reserves sink or swim, and when they couldn't put the game away, she brought Cardoso and Kitts back in who promptly went to work. Probably less trying to spare Georgia's feelings and more knowing that she had the firepower she needed next to her to put the game away if her bench wasn't getting the job done.
