Game Thread: Tennessee (17-10, 10-5 SEC) @ #1/#1 South Carolina (24-0, 14-0 SEC) 3/3/24 12:00 pm EST ESPN

Puckett supposed to be the player back. Totally blows the pass there and then gives up the layup. Have to know your role. She’s playing the 5 right now.
Puckett just wasn’t doing it today, which is why Darby was in there. She was totally lost on defense and couldn’t knock down any shots.

Well, we're only the 4th team to play South Carolina within single digits this year, joining UNC, Utah, and LSU, and the only team to do it on South Carolina's homecourt. Wouldn't be surprised to see this boost our NET by a few spots.

Are you saying that there ARE actual moral victories ( in the real world)?

They put up a fight and even non VOLS fans felt it was a good game. Unfortunately we lost. Hopefully we get a good draw in NCAA tournament and play with fight. Hope Ms. Jackson ankle is okay.

Powell played much better. I believe she learned a few things from watching the LSU game film. I feel bad for Rickea having to play with the likes of Sara and Tess. Slow as Christmas and couldn’t make a damn shot

Team is what I thought it was at the beginning of the season. Not enough scoring help for Rickea. She did her job today everyone else fell way short.
Darby fought hard and played some of the best defense of her career IMO, but really could've used her making at least one or two of those open 3s she got.

Better than being a negative Nelly. If you can’t relish and acknowledge the small wins, how can you possibly relish the big ones?
I appreciate your post and enthusiasm and I suppose we can view it that way. They played hard, but a little lax in talent

Not enough help on the glass either. We don’t have those players who just want to be a dog on the boards. You don’t have to be the tallest or jump the highest to rebound well. It just takes practice, timing and desire.

We need players like Puckett and Hollingshed to pull down 7-8 a game instead of the 3-5 we usually get.

Same case for Striplin, she got an opportunity today and she did do a nice job offensively. Zero rebounds though and gave up 8-10 points in the paint just being soft. If you know your minutes are limited anyway go ahead and use those fouls. In a physical game like this you might get away with one or two especially being the smaller them, which is unusual for us.
