.....take a step back from your keyboard (hopefully you already by this point) and think about just how you're bragging about driving down the field against the Arizona Cardinal's defense

Get a little closer to yours and reread my post and the context it was written in. Just to go over it again for your sake, I was not bragging about the Steelers offense but pointing out that a "overrated" qb lead an 88 yard game winning drive in the last 2:30 of the Super Bowl.

and nothing personal, but while he did keep his composure. their defense was absolutely horrendous that last drive...they were missing tackles, falling down, everything you'd expect a defense on a bad team to do whenever something serious was happening. And the truth was, the cardinals did have a very bad defense and it showed there.

I'm not saying anything about ben one way or another, but the defense was the same as any you'd expect from any year from what the franchise the Arizona Cardinals have come to show in their existance.

He drove down the field against a team that was 19th in total defense and 22nd in passing defense...you could tell after that first or second pass that they were going to bumble themselves to a loss (again, missed tackles and falling down during coverages). Sure the venue was great, but the opposition really wasnt.

they were in the super bowl. some teams win super bowls. some don't. we did, they didn't. and with the game on the line, regardless of the opponent, they made the plays to win the biggest game of the year.

put it this way, we didn't wind up 1 yard short like someone else did.:thumbsup:

The original post was about Roethlisberger so that's why I suggested you read things more closely. As for the competition, maybe him leading a 92 yard game winning drive in the final 3 minutes versus the Ravens in week 15 meets your standards.

And yeah, posts that are totally off point and not well thought out do tend to annoy me.

cool. the low blow to the guy analyzing stats. good job there buddy. hope you feel proud about yourself there.

I was taking a neutral standpoint - notice i didnt say ben sucked, and i didnt say he was great. I did say though that the pass defense of the team he played was horrid though, numbers wise. He performed well on a big stage yes; but not against too great an opponent for what they were doing

well then my appologies, i misread your post. my bad.

and yeah actually, that one would be more impressive b/c the ravens were not a team that spent all season struggling alot against defending the pass like arizona did. that's a much harder defense to pick apart (and well...less defender just fall down)

jakez4ut, dobre_shunka...as far as the game though I'm going to say the same thing I said earlier to a steelers fan on Thurs.

....you won a terribly messy game by both teams in overtime by 3....i'm surprised honestly you're not more relieved rather

I'm posting my replies in a gameday thread for a game between titans and steelers - that really started off with only titans fans posting during the entire game...where did this become a steelers only thread?
