but now with this game already a loss, they can't mess up anything before the pats.

If they come out of this first stretch with 3 or even 4 losses, the rest of the season could very well be an uphill battle for a wildcard

HOW BOUT DEM STEELERS!!! Now, it was an amazing defensive game. Big Ben and his 4th quarter/OT heroics. He is in a class of his own. Run game was awful, Titans just ate up the line. The game should have been over in the 4th. You don't mess with the Terrible Towl, it'll cost ya....

The towel incident was the least of our worries. Looks like we will have good run defense but will lack the horses to mount a competent pass rush.

Your O-line did pretty well last night in pass coverage against a mediocre pass rush defense. If we cant get pressure this year may be a long one.

Umm, no. Ben is overrated and any quarterback could have come back against the Titans. The Titans put no pressure on him and Ben could stand around for like 15 seconds waiting for someone to get wide open. If Ben is in a class of his own, it's in the class of most overrated quarterback ever. Manning, Manning Jr, Brady, Rivers.... all better. Give them the Steelers defense and they win championships too. Ben sucks.

Yeah, that Steeler defense had a lot to do with the 88 yard game winning drive in the Super Bowl.

Kevin Mawae looked pretty bad last night. I am certain his body will not hold itself together this year. He looked old and strength appeared to be an issue. don't get me wrong the heart is there, the body isn't.

I don't know that i would say Ben is overrated so much as I would say his O-line doesn't get near the credit they deserve for his success. His frame gives him the ability to do what he does. He has all the tools he needs to be a decent QB, the fact that his frame allows him the luxury of holding the ball makes him a very good QB. Take that away and he is median to a little above average. I like the fact that he has mastered the forgotten art of the pump fake, not enough QB's today use it like they should.

Absolutely. I like the guy, but his clock looks to be up. He was pretty much 75% of the reason for Collins constantly throwing on the run. The Steelers would just cross and blitz. When you get flat out beat by Casey Hampton you're gassed.

Stewart looked bad on that play that he got smoked by Harrison. Rest of the game he looked alright, from what I saw.

Agree on all counts.

As for Stewart, I think it was more about first game mistakes paired with a pass rush with every wrinkle imaginable the Steelers employ. I don't have any concerns about the rest of the line but I expect it's likely we see a change in the center position in the next couple of games.

Titan fans start off with chests puffed out as usual. actually physically beat us up front on both sides of the ball. we overcame terrible calls in 1st half, turnovers, injury to Troy, and make the plays you couldn't and by the end, you've rationalized a loss in to something other than losing. face it, the titans have never done anything, even when they play well enough to win, they find ways to lose.

Must suck to be a Titan fan. Sincerely, a Steeler Fan that's seen all 6.

btw, was at the game last night, awesome atmosphere,felt like a playoff game. and finally, on a serious note, the Titans are good. physically, they played better than us. could get pressure with only 4, and the Offensive game plan was very good. Just couldn't make the plays necessary when the game was on the line. they'll win 11 or 12 this year though.

as for us, our o line sucks. and no #43 for 3-6 weeks hurts big time. Ben though is a great qb. he's carried this offense now going on 2 years. he was spectacular in the 4th quarter (11-11 for171 yards or something). and in OT, he was money. I love Jeff Reed. if the oline gets no better, ravens win the North. Titans will still compete to win the South.

Go Steelers.

yeah, 2 Super Bowls, leads the league in 4th qtr comeback wins, including last night. just awful. i thought you were a moron when i started reading this thread, now you just proved it.

i think the two teams to beat in the AFC are the Ravens and Patriots. Titans and Steelers after that.

jake, in all seriousness I have a question for ya. All this stuff that is going on with Ben what do you think about it? Now the lawyer for the woman is making a motion to compel a list of all the women that he has slept with.

when it all 1st came out, i was worried. but as this stuff has unfolded for this woman, to me, it sounds like an act of desperation. do i think Ben has played the field? sure. he's 27 or 28, loaded, single.....and the qb for Steelers. something tells me he doesn't have to assault a woman to sleep with her.

I wasn't worried when it came out. You hear of this all too often. I mean this guy is very good looking...actually he is hot. She wanted money and that's all there is too it. There has been way too much stuff that has come out that shows she is lying. It's crazy though because his reputation is ruined. You know when they prove he didn't do it people are still going to think about that.

And you are right about that...for all the reasons you said. (But you need to add how cute he is) :p

his rep is fine. this story unfolding as it did helped ease the burden on his name. the only thing you fault ben for is probably making a bad decision on hooking up with this girl. i would think being who you are as Ben Roethlisberger, advances by women in situations like this would give him some pause as to why or what the real intention may be. he can't afford to trust that many people probably out side of his cirle of family, friends, etc.....

Just a hard fought game last night, big Titans fan here but I got to give credit where credit is due, Ben came out and was red hot in the 2nd half when his team needed him to...Wasn't real happy with the defense, it seemed to me like when the Steelers really wanted to go down field they could

That's what I thought too, I really didn't like just rushing 4, it seemed like last year they were bringing the heat every play, the titans should have won that game in regulation but they just didn't capitalize when they should have and Pitt did

I didn't like rushing 4 either but they also had Haynesworth last year as well (not when they played the Steelers though) They could have won it but couldn't do anything off the turnovers. Bironas doesn't miss those easy FGs' either. What was up with that? The announcers were bragging on him before he kicked it and then he missed them both. :no: All in all it was a good game. Each team (I believe) had the same amount of turnovers. The interception in the endzone was nice...too bad they couldn't have gotten points off of that. Oh well...
