Gary Parrish's take on BP and Tennessee

You must not have read my post fully regarding the salaries. But then again that is par for the course - your desire to argue, demean, and deflect is evident to the point that you don't even read what others post before you spew your would be come backs.

This is what you added at the end.

In my opinion, Tennessee will not be paying ANY new basketball coach 2.5 million (let alone 2.0 mill) whether it's this year or next.

If you throw out the salaries of Donovan and Cal (because they both have won NCAA's championships) the average salary of coaches in the SEC is 1.55 mill.

So what are you saying, that Tennessee won't pay more than the average of $1.5m? If so, you might as well stop thinking about Pearl, because I see no chance he gets less than that if he's in as high of demand as rumored to be.

I could Tennessee spending $2m on a coach, but probably not much more. I think $2m could get Marshall, but that's jmo.

I know what I posted and so does everyone else who has read this thread and my posts within this thread. That post in particular needs no additional explanation than what I posted, it was then (and now) clear and concise.

I doubt Marshall would place Tennessee as his primary goal as his big upward step, plus he's not necessarily compelled to make a move at all this year, but even if he did his head's in the big dance right now, and Bruce's isn't. Let's figure there'll be more/better job openings this time next year. Besides, most of you guys are going back and forth as if Hart and Cheeks and Haslam and, oh yeah, Pearl haven't discussed this............. possibly in depth. Wouldn't one think that plans A & B & even C are already pretty much in place within that quartet, at least as a set of "maybes"? Regardless, this season's still going to have to play out at least half way into the SEC tournament.
