I am about 65 miles from Ft. Worth. I know about a half dozen people\ coworkers who have Season tickets. They tell me everytime the VOLS talk to him he gets a 500,000.00 raise. Also say he's not going anywhere.

Hmmmmmm seriously??? This is what your response was man?? Hmmmm first he is in the big 12 so he goes undefeated he doesn't have much to worry about especially with the new playoff system where 4 teams go. Seriously man I'm as much as a UT and SEC homer as there is but people that think like you r the ones that piss others off.

Exactly. People need to realize that while UT has great tradition, it really doesn't mean much anymore these days. Now that we live in a world where anything and everything gets reported, it doesn't take being at a large tradition rich program to get noticed. Coaches and players can go to just about any BCS school and get just as much media attention and nfl notice as was only available at large tradition schools like UT in the past.

Now that TCU is in a BCS conference were not gonna be able to use NCG access as a selling point. Were gonna have to use money, recruits available, facilities, and coaching against the best as our selling points.

He is a great coach but I havent heard his name seriously considered in this search. I think he's holding out for the Texas job

He was on my early wish list too. I could easily get on board with this. With Hart actually entertaining Gundy, it may signal that Hart will keep working the upper tier guys. Patterson would be a good one!

I think all of them would say that about Patterson (Tressel too). Fisher and Fedora wouldn't scare them any. Strong might raise an eyebrow.

Why isn't Patterson even being mentioned??? He is way higher on the list than Gundy, imo. He is being mentioned in Auburn's hunt. He would be a GREAT coach and I live in North Alabama where I am surrounded by Bama fans (poor me, right?). The hires that scare these bammers the most are Patterson and Strong. To me this says something! :thumbsup:

While I agree he is beyond a long shot, I'd still hope they at least try to contact him (and a little groveling wouldn't hurt in my books). He wouldn't be a homerun hire he'd be a grand slam. Him and Peterson in my never to be humble opinion.

People are asking why GP would not be interviewed or considered. I have no doubt in my mind he WAS/IS considered a top candidate for the job. Why has his name not been mentioned for an interview? Just look at the chaos Gundy and Strong have started with their choosing to interview amoung their fans. Maybe GP is happy in FT Worth and does not see a reason to cause an uproar with the fanbase there. Maybe Hart spoke to him quietly and he is the guy that will be hired? Alot of reasons why his name could not be part of the day to day media circus.

I've said it before... I think Patterson is waiting for the Texas job to open up. I think he'd be a shoe in.
