Right. So everyone knows they are driving prices up to make more money so why is everyone defending them? We know what they are doing.
All kidding aside . . . What exactly would you have the government do to "level the playing field"?
Right. So everyone knows they are driving prices up to make more money so why is everyone defending them? We know what they are doing.
Again with all you people complaining how bad it is. List me the things you have cut out because you can't afford gas? Cable, eating out, movies, whatever? You are complaining because your discretionary income has been cut into. wah wah. Get smart find a way around it. I doubt there are more than 2 or 3 people , if any on VN, that spend more on gas than me in a week. Find a way around it.
there's the solution. get the government involved. given their penchant for losing, I would expect Big Oil profits to swing negative shortly thereafter.i have cut out quite a bit. i basically try to do all my running in one trip. i cancelled our family vacation this summer. i also have my house on the market because it is a long drive to do anything out here in the country. it isn't going to get any better with these losers running our country. so i figure the american dream is dead might as well move back to phoenix and hang out with the illegals.
Yea, American dream is dead because your gas went up 1 dollar a gallon. $100-$200 a month for the average family I would guess. If that cost you the American dream, well...
You cannot seriously be calling the healthcare arena a free market. Gov't regulation has made the place a disaster, but has made many a consultant rich in the process.I would be willing to listen to anyone who wanted to put forth an argument for nationalizing oil companies.
I'm not saying I agree, but I'm ready to listen.
Free markets don't work very well when the consumer has no choice. Look at healthcare, doctors can charge what they want because people have to have medical care. Its not a good model for free enterprise.
I think the govt needs to come in and establish costs, if your a specialist you make xxx dollars, a family practioner xxx dollars, etc. Same for the oil industry. I think this would be a better then what we have now. If this means some form of nationlizing them, I'm willing to listen.
They probably make less % net profit than the company you work for. The facts of gas price levels have been pointed out and cited several times in these forums and you choose to ignore the facts. I contend that you don't know anything about what they are doing and choose to argue from a position of ignorance.
might as well be. pretty soon unless your rich you won't be able to get healthcare, but to listen to allvol, it is all good.
Yes, people are practically dying in the streets these days. So poor, sitting at home eating their cheeseburgers and watching cable all night. If only they had the freedom to spend their money how they wanted.
