Gas Prices Pass Record

Maybe people would go into those fields who really wanted to help people and not to make a lot of money wouldn't that be a thought?

Most healthcare systems in the rest world are nationalized. You think Doctors in India are not as intelligent as the ones in the U.S.? That hasn't deterred the brightest people from entering the field in those countries?

You poll the majority of Canadians they love their health care system. You poll the people in this country I think you might be surprised.

Wrong, I know people in Canada with MS and they hate that system. No choice in doctors and appointments months away. Most healthcare systems are nationalized? Great. What country do you think really sick people would choose to get care from if they could make the choice?

Or the whole economy. When that specialist is making 120K, he is not going to pay the poor people to build him a big house, wash his car and mow his lawn.

Look out! He just brought up trickle down economics!?:good!:

the people i know in toronto and vancover seem to like it better than when they were working in the states.

If you are not sick, any healthcare system seems fine.

Again, oklavol, what countries would be considered to have the best doctors and care available in the world?

Polls indicate the majority of Canadians like their healthcare system very much.

Actually Canadians who come to this country fear getting sick over here because of the cost. They travel back to Canada if they need to see a doctor.

Some people in this country actually travel to india for surgeries, etc because they can't afford the costs here. Not to mention the millions here who don't have health insurance.

most of the people answering the polls are healthy.

They might fear the cost, but they would be much happier with level of care.

Last part, laughable again. If your life is in jeopardy you will choose the US and worry about the money later.

i would have to say they have used the system at some point. i don't know anybody that is 65 who hasn't been to the doctor. they have kids and families, so i would have to say they have used the system at some point. when i was talking of moving to canada i ask my friend in toronto about there healthcare system, i was concerned because of all the bad pub in the states. he stated it was alot better than what he had during his 3 year stint in toledo ohio. he said it was tons cheaper and better doctors. then again my friends are not out in the sticks now either, they live in toronto and north of washington. things could be different elsewhere.

Allvol I've explained my positions pretty well. But I'm waiting for you to explain why the costs of healthcare and gasoline in this country are reasonable.

Why oil companies should be the most profitable companies on earth for basically digging a hole in the ground. The same thing they have been doing for the last 80 years. You would think they would be really good at it, but apparently it costs more then ever.

The U.S. healthcare system is the most expensive in the world. Many countries have comparable care for much, much less costs.

what. if your sick in the united states you might as well be dead. your bills will be so high you'll never pay them off and you'll loose everything you have anyway, possibly your kids too. so i guess everybody better move to canada they are the healthiest people in the world.:eek:lol:

Apparently they are reasonable because I fill my gas tank up at least twice a week and have been in need of medical care many times and somehow seem to scrape together a pretty decent life in the process. Reasonable enough?

NO

Its one thing to add meaningful dialogue and new ideas to further a discussion and another to simply insult people you don't agree with. I still haven't read where you have contributed anything to the discussion. Otherwise I see no reason to even respond to you anymore.

I have posted several cites in this and other similar threads that actually give facts about refineries and big oil. If you choose to ignore what I and others have pointed out about the facts of the situation that is your choice. If you take my comments as an insult, so be it.

It is not meaningful dialogue to repeat your feelings with no facts attached ad nauseam.
