It also means that those stats of coach's records against each other is not all that meaningful. Last year was the first year that Jones had more talent. Muschamp had more talent the first year at UF, and it was maybe closer to even in the second. Jones beat Spurrier with less talent. Kind of all evens out.

How many draft pics did Georgia Southern have when they punked you at home when dealing with a similar injury situation?

I missed where I made excuses for UF's loss at Arkansas last year or the Georgia Southern debacle in 2013.

Muschamp should have been fired an hour after losing to Georgia Southern, and losing to Arkansas wasn't nearly as costly as UT losing to Vandy or South Carolina.

They still have elite talent but the coaching is mediocre at best.

Honestly, if Butch didn't lose the games he was supposed to win last year, McElwain wouldn't have won the East.

It's not that McElwain is a better coach than Jones. Jones just happened to make it easier for him due to his poor coaching, to win the East considering it was basically handed to him on a silver platter.

Florida had no business winning the East two years in a row when it should have been us.

Here's what's funny to me about digging. This was the post that started bringing up coaching ability. Prior to this post the thread was about Harris. Then you jump in and basically counter this post by agreeing with it. Josh said that Butch's poor coaching gifted your coach with two SEC east titles. This is exactly what your point has been since.

We get it. Butch choked against SCar and Vandy. Who's arguing? We also agree neither would've happened had we not been decimated. We also know that while a definite reason, we should have found a way to win.

Oh well. We still beat Florida and Georgia.

Strange as it may seem our defense beat Florida last year. I think we had something like 4 or 5 three and outs almost in a row to start the second half. I don't think it matters how many nfl stars you have playing defense - if they get gassed - they get gashed. We gashed them good for once.

Also I do think CJM was scared of our defense in that we were winning field position early in the 2nd half and he went conservative - not allowing Appleby to do what had been working for them in the first half - airing it out. I think I remember him saying they were pinned back toward their own endzone to much to risk Appleby's arm. He was probably less obvious in his wording.

I hate to hear about any kids getting injured no matter the team. I also had rather play other teams at their full strength so there are no excuses.

On Michigan. I hate Michigan mainly because of a friend that's a fan and he so gets on my nerves. But I hope they mop the floor with Florida.

There's one "brand" I care about and it isn't the SEC brand. It is the UT Vols brand. There are SEC teams that I don't hate. I can almost pull for them as long as a win by them is good for UT... not UF.
