Gay Marriage

You are further verifying their statement that all Christians are closed minded...

No I am not. If someone murders someone and I find that to be a wrong decision the murderer made, why should I be respectful of the murderer's decision to commit murder?

Let's not be so crazy to compare murder to being gay or straight...your smarter than that...come on man...

When you quit equating gay marriage to murder you might understand.

I am not equating gay marriage to murder, back up and read. I am commenting on the idea that I should respect everyone's opinion no matter their opinion on any issue. That is ludacris.

Guys in all fairness, we could go ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON about this. This is a debate that will be around a 1000 years from now if we are still here, and it has raged since WAY before we were born so agree or not. I believe that you have to respect a person's decisions but you do not have to agree or help them with that decision. As the old saying goes, "You dig your own grave in life and you must lay in it." No one else can live your life, but you don't need to be disrespectful to others who don't agree with you.

Since you are making them moral equivalents, I assume you think homosexuality should be a capital crime?

Considering this whole thread is about this topic you have a funny way of not comparing the two...

We won't be. Didn't you hear? Homosexuality is going to lead to the extinction of the species.

Not you to. I was not equating homosexuality to murder. I was responding to someone's post about every opinion should be respected. That is a stupid idea that every opinion deserves respect.

You have a funny way of not reading very well. Last I checked I saw posts about the Crusades in here, not sure how that relates directly to the thread title.

If society has not progressed enough in 1000 years to quit worrying about gay marriage then I pity the future.

Yet most of the wars have been because of religion in one way or another.

Yup, and we got attacked on 9/11 because some of the Islamic people think we are the devil....wonder if tolerating gay people or gay marriage had anything to do with it?? Even if it did, it was an attack of cowardness and stupidity.

No I read very well...they weren't comparing the two...they were going off on a tangent about a different topic, happens frequently around here...

It had alot to do with it. Hence close minded and intolerant beliefs that drive people to hate a different religion or country soley based enought to kill. Again, sad.

It does yes, but if we had to start 8 different threads to discuss what we needed to in 1 then people around here would go crazy.

Reverand Robertson, are you going to play the "Katrina was sent to destroy New Orleans because of all the sodomy that goes on there" card next?

Hurricanes are part of God's Natural Law, and no I don't believe in that non-sense. If it were going to destroy a city of sodomy, then it should have went to San Francisco.

The reference to the Crusades came about when someone tried to pass off Christianity as a tolerant religion. I simply was pointing out that the church has a long history of barbaric hypocrisy.
