The FBI told Flynn it was an informal briefing and wasn’t an interview and he didn’t need an attorney. Even the agents that conducted the “interview“ stated he didn’t lie.
1) Irrelevant. He was not actually charged with perjury, it was with making a false statement to the FBI.
2) There is one reason, AND ONE REASON ONLY, for him to have lied, as he did. And that was because he realized that the effort to help the Russians on the sanctions, as ordered by the transition team, was certainly illegal, and very possibly a counter intelligence operation by the Russians, themselves.
3) You guys keep saying they didn't think he intentionally lied and would take no action, but you keep leaving off that they said, unless they learned more. Which is what happened. They learned that in fact Flynn misled them about the call and that the call involved undoing sanctions against the Russians. And further that Flynn was pressed to do that by the transition team.
Look, its AMAZING to me that people who pretend to wrap themselves in the flag at every turn are so willing to ignore these simple truths:
The Russians interefered to help Trump.
Trump promoted it.
The prior administration sanctioned Russia for their interference in a US election.
Whe he won, the Trump administration, even before he took the oath, immediately went to work to undo those sanctions.
Just incredible the way you guys desperately look for ways to excuse it. Really pretty disgusting. Think about what you are protecting here. Just take a step back and realize its the OPPOSITE of what you claim to stand for.
