Really? I started to but then held my nose again and voted for what I considered the lesser of two evils. Won't happen again. If neither party nominates someone I can feel good about voting for then I'll register my protest vote.

Maybe someday the Libertarians can become strong enough to change the nature of the national debate. I'd love to see the two sides be less gov't... and even less gov't rather than Dem and Dem-lite.

It is interesting that the left is running head long into this as a triumph for Obama and proof that he's in charge.

McChrystal was a spook... and he's a General. Anyone who thinks he's some kind of moron that doesn't know how to play the media is a fool. Maybe it was a lapse, a mistake, but it doesn't seem very likely.

Maybe he could not get rational policies from the Administration concerning rules of engagement, force strength, et al so he fell on his sword to save lives by making the debate public?

From when JFK was assassinated until 2000 I wrote in Pat Paulsen and Foster Brooks except one year I wrote in Mickey and Mighty Mouse.

Had so many people writing in Mickey Mouse that they changed it so that unless one has registered with the election commission to be a write in candidate then local precincts don't report write in candidates, at least in Tennessee, so I voted against Gore, whom I loathe, Kerry whom I literally despise and Obama who is the least qualified and most subversive president in American history.

I'm not at all happy with the leading Republican presidential candidates for 2012 and the day I ever vote for another Democrat will be the day you can ice skate in hell. (not even then.)

If he does "feel" it's the only way then he is a major idiot. There is a lot of honor that goes with wearing the uniform. EVERYONE from a private basic up to and including generals know you do NOT EVER slam civilian leadership. If he wanted to protest the honorable thing would be for him to have asked to be relieved of his command. That is how it's done and trust me he knew that.
I don't like Obama at all but he had no choice but to fire the Gen.
