For the most part it wasn't even McCrystal who made these statements. So using your example it would be like someone who is under me calling my boss a doofus and me getting fired for it.

From what I have read about the comments made, they mostly were critical about the methods taken in Afghanistan, only a couple of names were called and they were very minor.

I've read that he automatically reverts to two star but unless he finds severe political opposition he will be able to retire at highest rank served.

I havn't read anything so far about his future plans or the CIC's (chicken in chief) plan to reassigen him.

McChrystal received much of his promotion under Clinton and has been in the Obama camp for the most part other than the cristicism of that complete moron Bite Me Biden who wasn't even on the same page with Obama last fall.

No doubt moveon and company are turning over in their grave at the thought of Patraeus running the show, even Obama said a couple of years ago that Patraeus wasn't capable of running the show in Afghanistan.

I think maybe the leftist cabal controling the executive branch is disentergration on it's own.

... When did I ever say anything really positive about Obama? I get flak from my more liberal friends all the time who call me a "closet republican" because of how much I criticize Obama's fiscal policy (or lack of).

I voted for Bob Barr.

not sure i feel sorry for the guy. he probably retires with an annual pension north of $300k. not bad for doing nothing. probably the best decision he's ever made.

it won't be near that large, but he'll be fine and will find a great spot as a lobbyist or fundraiser.
