Thinks he is in the category of CPHS.....will never be close....Coach Pat Head Summit has been and will always the woman that changed and built woman's college hoops...

while there is no doubt geno is an a** and that Pat built womens basketball, his titles are more impressive as the level of competition in womens basketball (thanks in no small part to Pat) has been far higher then when Pat won hers. That will be taken as a knock by me on Pat by some on here but it is accurate

He at least he had the public relations sense to say he'd joined the company of the greatest women's basketball coach of all time.

Geno's a first-rate putz, but those UConn teams were tremendous. I appreciate the UT vs. UConn rivalry even more now that Pat is gone. The intensity has not been duplicated by any two womens' teams since and probably never will.

I don't take it as a knock, but I completely disagree with you. If Pat had won all hers in the 80's or 90's and Geno won his the past 10 years or so, I could find a bit of common ground. Also, the Lady Vols play in a league that might just be 500 times harder than the league UCONN plays in. They've had no competition until the past few years while the LV's play through a physical and grueling SEC schedule.

I am not a Geno fan but lets be fair. U Conn was #1 in strength of schedule this year.

I'm not sure how you arrive at that conclusion about the Big East considering they had 3 of the 4 teams at the Final Four. For sure they have a lot of stink at the bottom, but their top tier has demolished the SEC lately.

Geno has been kicking a$$ and taking names while we play like Brownies. It's tough for we longtime UT followers. The gap between us and them was evident in the way each team played Louisville. Sobering.

Its funny how you're looking past the fact that UCONN probably knew that team pretty well since they played in the same conference. (Wasn't that their 3rd time playing them this year) Oh and also that Louisville team was probably tired as hell from beating....Baylor, Tennessee, and then coming from behind to beat Cal. Then again, common sense isn't used that often on this board.

Totally lame excuses.

he won 7 since 2000 which kind of negates the argument

that maybe the dumbest line of thinking i have seen in a long while....so ucon was not tired from when then played and UL did not learn from playing them multiple times?

The Big East was better this year. Heck, it was an all Big East final.
No excuses. UConn is now the premier women's basketball team in the nation.

Uconn was the best team. They would have beaten us just as bad.

The UCONN team earned their title this year. UT earned their place in history as the marker other teams try to attain. Geno has a great program along with a number of other schools. CPHS is the the Icon that is talked about when Women's Basket Ball is discussed. Her legacy will stand because she began it all and unfortunately her coaching career was cut short. She will always be Women's Basket Ball!!!

Question, did Pat's book shed any light on what happened between her and Geno?
No. Sadly, that's the one topic that does not put Pat in a good light. Your character comes into question if you make allegations and not say what occurred. Answering the question by saying, "Geno knows" just doesn't cut it. The reason I don't like it is that outside of Knoxville people are looking at the situation as sour grapes on Pat's part. Not good.
