Georgia

Don’t ever forget that Kirby got away with buying players and Pruitt didn’t. Kirby outbid on 4 or 5 guys that was coming to Tennessee and conveniently switched to Georgia at the last minute.
Can you provide actual proof of your ridiculous accusations?

Georgia? Al I can say is I'm down with the Georgia Tech chat regarding Georgia. THWG

Stop no its not!...UGA will somehow find a way to choke away one of the title games a they always do...Was a fluke they won it last year...Next year it wouldn't shock or surprise me if they lost 2 to 3 games...They are a bunch of wannabes....I would LOVE to see USC beat them.[/QUOTE
Another one with his head in the sand. Since their last loss to UF in 2020 UGA is 30-1. In his 7 years coaching Kirby has only lost 3 games or more twice. His first year he lost 5 and then one year he lost 3. Not sure they are wannabes but instead are proving themselves to be somebody to contend with year in and year out. Any real fan doesn't use the word dynasty. They know it is all about the next game. Kirby has recruited great and done a great job of developing players. You can't be just an average or a good team and lose 15 players to the NFL and then go undefeated again in the regular season. People can ignore the obvious but he is obviously doing something right and he's not going anywhere anytime soon. I would not call it a dynasty but I certainly would say that you've got another Nick Saban on your hands to contend with every year. In other words he won't be an easy win at any time and he will have his team in contention more years than not. Having your team play in the playoffs three out of the last four years is not a bad accomplishment.

Who is going to beat them is my only question? No one has looked that impressive this year overall throughout the whole year.
Are they really that impressive though? Sure, they have flashes of defensive genius, but man, some of these lower tier teams that matched them up could've beat them if they would've had a little more depth.

Quite honestly Tennessee and Hook choked in our match up this year.
They had that deer in headlights look.
No they got beat by much better and more physical team. Anyone other than a Tennessee fan saw that. Georgia is a good team this year and well balanced and disciplined. Same thing happened at Neyland last year. You can't beat a team like Georgia or Michigan with the 130th-ranked pass defense.

I hope USC beats the living hell out of you guys...I really do.

Play that game 10 times and you lose nine. Any team in the SEC can beat another SEC team on any given Saturday if enough mistakes and turnovers occur for the better team.

The statement that if one SEC team, which you questionably claim is the better, makes enough mistakes and turnovers then they can lose to another SEC team probably needs digging into.

The part about a team making enough mistakes (of which turnovers are a type) losing is uhh… pretty much how every game between two teams is determined. No game is ever won by a team that makes “enough” mistakes to lose. So that’s some stellar insight.

As for better, if two SEC teams play one another and one loses then the winner was at least better that day. You can argue the loser is “better” overall but it’s unprovable unless they get the opportunity to play again. Georgia was better than Tennessee the day we played. Tennessee was better than Alabama on the day they played.

Your statement that Alabama beats Tennessee 9 times out of 10 is an opinion. That’s fine, you are allowed to have those. My opinion is you are wrong and we win every rematch where Bryce Young doesn’t play like Superman easily, and the games he does we come close to splitting.

Oh, my other opinion is if we play Georgia at Neyland we probably beat them. So I guess we will see next year.

And some of you obviously don't understand context, this isn't the only thread they're in, and yes, some are claiming they're a dynasty. You got Georgia fans on our board trashing Tennessee, and you choose to argue with a Tennessee fan who is calling them out?🤣 Give me a break, you must be a Kirby lover like a few other "Tennessee fans" around here.
Lol didn't realize I was supposed to know that you weren't actually responding to what the OP said, you were replying to someone else in a different thread. My bad for not understanding the "context" (might want to look that word up).
O and yes, it's obvious I get goosebumps talking about Kirby from all my posts about him.

Southern Cal can pass the ball with Caleb Williams and remember Lincoln Riley put up a ton of yards and points against Kirby in the 2017 Rose Bowl when he was at Oklahoma. So they might have a glimmer of hope. I’m not sure they are good enough on defense though to match up with Georgia’s offense and then of course depth and rotating one 5 star stud in with another to stay fresh this is how Georgia beats you folks.

I would bet against it. Everyone is trying to emulate what Saban has done, and they won't. Dabo is the perfect example of how programs generally hit a peak. half a dozen good to great years is likely what Georgia will get.
Kirby has a lot going his way, but all it takes to derail a dynasty is anything. A locker room turns, a terrible replacement is hired, a class that fails to live up to the hype, the transfer portal, or even coaching woes off the field can start a fall.
Georgia wants to be held in regard like Alabama, same as Clemson desired(s still for some of them), but the reality is that what Saban has done at Alabama is almost impossible to replicate. Kirby will fail to build a dynasty like that, but the man will have a damn tenure at Georgia. Tennessee has to get a couple of similar classes for coaching to really matter.

Yes they did get beat by a better team but anyone who didn't see they had that " not ready for prime time deer in the headlights look" was not paying attention.
Tennessee is a better team than the showing in Athens. They can win against any team. Obviously they can lose them as well.
I will not be surprised to see Georgia get beat in the playoffs.

Quay Walker and Amurius Mims were two Georgia players that Kirby outbid Pruitt to get to come to Georgia before NIL. Kirby got away with it and Pruitt got busted but this was common knowledge these guys were headed to Tennessee and boom Kirby and co dangle some more money in front of them. Darnell Washington is another one who was paid more to go to Georgia.

Interesting. I want to understand what was known for sure, and what we just suspect. The theory seems plausible, maybe even likely to me, but if Kirby did it I am guessing he didn’t get caught?

We know they were coming to Tennessee, and we know they flipped to Georgia I imagine. Did it come out in the NCAA stuff that they were paid or is it just strongly suspected?

I read the response the other day and saw there were some athletes who received benefits who ended up not attending. Were those the same guys?

I don’t doubt it happened but it is a pretty serious thing to assert as fact. If Pruitt got caught with those dudes specifically and they flipped that is suggestive but would be careful about saying it is for sure.

That was pretty much known at the time. Yea Pruitt was offering money to several recruits that Georgia was in on but so was Kirby. It’s like if we are going down for this then so should Georgia but nope they get off scot free.

Yes Mims, Walker and Darnell Washington for sure were paid allegedly 100K to come to Georgia now the exact amount of money paid out could be disputed but it was said Pruitt was paying and offering 60K to certain recruits so 100K would make sense that Kirby was offering that amount to outbid us.
