The truth is that Franklin is proof that it's not all about how many stars your recruits have. The upperclassmen for this Vandy team are not from some high profile recruiting class. They are the same old run of the mill guys that Vandy has always recruited. UT has been collecting top 15 classes forever including during Dooley and Kiffens era. We have a talent pool but haven't had a coach. Vandy has a coach with a low talent level and has mad it this far. Look what Louisville did with a great coach and mediocre talent. UT has a good coach now. It may take a few years to bear fruit but by no means do we need to be worried about Vandy long term. Once UT starts racking up wins against decent opponents, the cream will always gravitate here. It's going to be harder than ever to stand out with the rise of USCe and T A&M but all of the SEC teams are having to deal with talent dilution.

The truth hurts for Vol fans....everyone thought we'd have a 9 win season and didn't. Right now Vandy has bragging rights for the year

He's also an azzhole and the coach of Vandy.....he's the Bruce Pearl of SEC football. If he's your coach you love him....if not you want to kick his rear

Vandy is better....We were terrible this year....

Vandy played a terrible Auburn team--but who at least had a defense....We had Siss-seri...

Vandy's schedule will be significantly tougher in 2013. They finish 7-5 next year...

Franklin is a good coach--and had some moral victories this year....but just exactly which GOOD TEAM did he really beat?

VOLS will be back-sooner rather than later....Vandy will always be Vandy. GO VOLS! :salute:

Ok smart guy. To hell with the shirt, it is about having opportunities to be the best. The only way to be the best is to beat the best. Vandy wouldn't know about such things, well, i guess since 1926 anyway. That is why UT has always scheduled tough OOC games and have won their share until the Mike Hamilton era of ineptitude.

Enjoy the season of 9 wins over weak teams with a heavy senior class. Next year will be far different my friend.

The key words are "next year". I totally agree as this previous season is now "last year". I never look back as 9 wins in 2012 or a NC in 1998 will not win a single game in 2013. I don't concern myself with who each and every team plays as I (or any other fan) can do nothing about it. I expect my team to not lose vs lesser teams. CJF has done this so far.

I think you guys have a good coach now but he will not succeed unless your fanbase realizes it's not 1998 still. I applaud your school for not dropping the Oregon game but bragging about playing them is a little ridiculous. APSU, WKU, and South Alabama easily offset the one hard game. That is a guaranteed 3-1 OOC slate.

Northwestern, Presbyterian, UMass, Wake Forest.
Austin Peay, UMass, UAB, Wake Forest.

Real impressive, bub. I could coach a team against most of these.

I wouldn't consider WKU a guaranteed win. With Peteino at the helm they will likely shock a few teams.
