He was the starter because he out worked more talented football players.

That also doesn't mean that they didn't work. Jacob just out worked them and got his shot.

exactly. all i was trying to say

i mean floridas offense sucked ass for a reason too. The coaches dont play.

Man I was told by him he thought it was just a hyper extension.... Sucks for him. He fought so hard through camp couldn't of happen to a better guy! Hate that!!!

Oh please. Don't make an argument out of nothing.

Anyone with common sense can look at this situation and determine that our OL, which already struggled with USU's DL, will be even worse now that we lost our starting LT.

The OL "struggled" to 38 points?

Really hate it for the young man, fifth year senior, worked hard for his ultimate scholly. My hat is off to him and thanks as well.

I thought I saw him let a couple of tears go when he walked off the field. I think he knew that it was bad. Feel terrible for the guy. Out working everyone and finally getting a shot and then a freak tweak and out for the season.

This sucks big time!!! We are SO thin and inexperienced. We might only average 97 yards a game

Thanks dooley for recruiting all those wonderful O-linemen. /hateful sarcasm

maybe only 75...will we even be able to snap the ball, or field a team?
We can take Hurd to Golden Corral and make him stay all week until he gains 75 pounds. We can move him to tackle.

Peyton's freshman year, the starter was Colquitt...against UCLA he came out gangbusters and was driving us down the field...blew his knee!...first series-first game...barely played his whole career...medical redshirt denied...DE from Miami...Rusty Medearis, I believe, played seven years and the last three he'd blow his knee three games into the season...rubber stamped him until he finally refused because he could barely walk anymore...they won't give us a medical redshirt...'s why I named that rule in Jerry's honor.

Ok got ya. I thought there really was some kind of rule you were referring to. Thanks. Hope he can recover and if he wants it, is given the chance to come back and fight some more. The kid has heart, no doubt.

So now we have someone that couldn't beat out a walk-on starting. With a dude that couldn't beat out the guy that couldn't beat out a walk-on right behind him!

I'm not sure you intended it this way but simply referring to a guy who fought for 5 years on this team to earn a scholarship and the nod from Butch Jones for the starting spot at LT as simply a "walk on" is some bs. IMO.

It was satire. I figured the second sentence gave it away.

Just read a College Football Talk article that says we're exploring the possibility of a 6th year of eligibility but it's unlikely to be approved god I hate the NCAA so much.

Another thing. And I need to be careful I don't want to sound like an ass. Proud of Jacob and he's a true VFL.

However, had he not gone down with the injury I think he may have lost his starting job this week anyway.

He was getting manhandled before the injury.

That stinks.
You have to question the effectiveness of those knee braces.
Last year UT played the whole season with no O-line missing action.

Anyway, I don't care when a guy gets it as long as he does. Looks like the switch came on for Kendrick. unfortunate that Blair seems this unprepared to play at this level. Also a mystery as to why CT continues to regress.

That's good and my post wasn't just at you. Lots of posters make it sound like the guys who couldn't beat Gilliam sucked just because he took the long hard road to scholarship. IMO means he was that much more tenacious and fired up. How much more motivation could you ask for than 5 years sweat equity?

Good thing we've got five OL verbally committed for next year. I feel bad for Jacob to work all those years to have it end this way.

Don't expect the NCAA to due anything for players except make money off them
