Ask those same officers if they have anything to go on besides gut instincts.

You mean besides about 40 years of combined experience and a BAC that indicates that the only way the young man hadn't already had a few by the time he left Bruce's was if he began pounding Everclear shortly after leaving? Mind you, nobody has ever indicated Bruce provided any alcohol.

Funny how that doesn't say "Convicted" isn't it? How many parties has Billy Clyde thrown that an underage kid left drunk and then died in a wreck? Again, fanbases in glass houses...

The only reason it doesn't say convicted is because he cut a deal. You know that.

As opposed to a basketball coach with a history of playing fast and loose with the truth?

More implied wrong doings. Again, unless you have some proof of something........

We all know that you are a Billy Clyde fan. It's not necessary to scramble to try and shift blame to Pearl somehow every time anyone has anything less that complimentary to say about BCG.

Meeks will be back. No one in kentucky is planning on him leaving. Everyone in the program is planning on Patterson being gone next year. With the Miller and Liggins having a year of experience and the addition of John Hood and Daniel Orton I don't see him losing his job anytime soon. Unless his attitude gets him in trouble with the booster.

You'd think a lawyer would be able to make legit arguments.

You'd think after the number of times you've been made to look like an idiot around here, you'd know to stay out of the discussions when the adults are talking.

How is simple science "implied wrongdoing?" Pretty tough to get a BAC above the legal limit in a two hour, actually slightly less, time frame.

The NCAA disregarded Bruce's testimony in the Illinois case. I guess when the governing body of your sport essentially calls you a liar, that's "implied wrongdoing" too.

You are implying that Pearl did something wrong. There could be any number of circumstances at play.

I'm not implying anything. I'm simply reminding everyone it's best to have their own house in order before casting stones.

Again, implying that our house is not in order because of the events you are bringing up is a stretch.

Besides, it's a Tennessee board. The people here actually can make fun of Kentucky, regardless of anything else. In fact, we encourage it. :)

Further, if I really wanted to take shots at Pearl, I'd compile the voluminous rips his peers privately take at him on a regular basis and disseminate them. Instead, I contain my comments to situations where I'm confident I have a solid grasp of the facts, no merely innuendo.

I'm sure there are plenty of coaches that privately take shots at BCG. So what? I bet everyone loved Dennis Felton. How far did that get him?

Again, what facts do you have a grasp on? If you aren't implying any wrong doing by Pearl, then what is the point of bringing it up?

Not many.

Oops, we all forgot that hat hangs out with EVERY coach in basketball and can definitively say that not many have bad things to say about BCG. I think its obvious the normal trend that goes on here. Volnation person makes fun of Coach X (a coach that hat happens to like), and out comes the Pearl bashing. I don't really care if either of these guys is squeaky clean; most people aren't. I'm more concerned with the performance of their basketball teams, and right now both are barely NCAA tourney teams.

You get so defensive and personal over a message board. It's sad in one way, hilarious in another.

What's funny is you don't actually use those facts. You use vague statements (such as this).

I notice in the course of calling me an idiot you completely ignored this.
The cutting of said deal couldn't possibly have anything to do with the weakness of the state's case on the DUI, now could it?

I know a large enough number of coaches that I have no problem extrapolating out the general consensus in the profession about BCG and Pearl both.

If he hadn't cut the deal for reckless driving he'd have the DWI on his record. You know this and so do I. Not to mention it's not like he's only had one incident with drinking and driving.

Come to Malone's in Lexington during happy hour. My cousin, who's a waitress, will be happy to point him out to you. :eek:k:

P.S. This Vols fan lives in a "brick" house. :salute:

Kind of like the consensus of the UK fanbase?
