If I mentioned swimmers drowning, you would shout "ban water!"

Fat people eating themselves to death and developing diabetes and heart disease? Ban all food! We should all starve!

Poison ivy a problem? Napalm the Smokies!

Similarly, you have irrationally concluded that the solution is to wipe out all humans. I'll tell you what. You first.

The point I was making is humans are having an effect through our actions. Not that humans should cease to exist.

:nono:

Young man, you are going to have to go back to the gaming forum!

the fact that you felt the need to clarify, scares me

This is what I don't get, Continents, Great Lakes, Caspian Sea, English Channel, Grand Canyon, etc.... all before more could greatly contribute......

No one ever said carbon dioxide, or green house gases in general, were the only factor in the equation.

Obviously the Sun is the biggest role player in shaping Earth's climate. Mix in Milankovitch cycles, complex circulation dynamics, changes in the tilt of the Earth, and a nearly endless list of possible positive and negative feedback cycles, and you will have a climate that will be in flux through out the eons. It simply doesn't hold up to point to previous climate change as proof that humans can't effect it.

For example, the English channel and great lakes were carved out during an ice age tied to a Milankovitch cycle.

The thing is, in the background of all those variables, something unprecedented is happening: everything we humans have ever done. We are a flash in the pan geologically, and are doing things that have never been done before in a geologically instantaneous frame of time.

You lost me here........all I could see after this is Midichlorians.....

In short, the Earth is going to do what she wants, when she wants and we will be along for the ride?

The Earth wobbles in short, on scales of several hundred thousand and million years, in both orbit and angle of revolution.

I know who will destroy the Earth...but I'm not telling

Give the guy a break, he knows his crap. (No pun)

Like the banner above, how is this reality? We control..........

Seems fishy to me and sounds like a government program waiting to happen.

Oh wait!

It's unfortunate how political it has all become. I don't like cap and trade, and I don't like government forcing people to do things. That has nothing to do with the situation. I don't see people claiming cancer is a conspiracy, because they don't like socialized health care.

You had me till here.

We know cancer is horrible and what comes from it.

Honestly, we have gone from global cooling to ice ages to global warming to climate change in the past 40 years.

We know what cancer is........

:dunno:

I have heard of that theory and that is interesting. Changing the earths angles on its axis would have an effect on the earths climate. The truth is, there are many factors that cause climate change. So we can control. Some we cant. We think that we have total control of our destiny and when some realize we dont, it scares the crap out of them. Me, I just go with the flow. Except when it comes to left-wing commie libs. By the way IP, what specifically was your degree in? Just wondering
