Whom ever they hire we have to stand by them because that is UT. We stood behind Dooley and yes he went 5 years backwards but there are some good ones out there!! I just believe with the powers we have in the NFL as past players and boosters, I believe Hart will have no choice but to get it right.

Gruden had or has the star power and yes recruits would come by the dozen but look at Federo, Strong, Patterson and what they have done with lesser talent! The talent we have there is no reason that half a coach could do a lot!! Less just relax, myself included and lets just watch it unfold.

I have been amped up for about a week for Gruden, feel like a crack head coming down but we have to relax and let it unfold!!

I said weeks ago when all the "it`s a done deal" crap was spreading that Gruden was not coming here. No expert ....just common sense. Also said people were going to be really disappointed. Hit that nail on the head too. Glad I wasn`t 3 for 3!!!! I was predicting mass suicide when it came to light that Gruden was not coming here. Not patting myself on the back, just wondering where all the posters are that had sources that were practically guaranteeing Gruden as the next UT head coach.

Strong has done something gruden hasn't. Won in college ranks. Isn't that we want. But yet so called "true" vols fans complain

The attraction to Gruden was two things:

1. The sheer magnitude and attention it would give us ALL OVER THE NATION.

2. His ability to be able to recruit top talent virtually on name alone.

We need both of these things to be relevent in the next 2-3 years. I don't think anyone else available can pull this off within 5 years.

So we ge turned down by a guy whos been linked to and turned down every coaching job ever in the past 3 years. And now were calling for the ADs head and claiming we're gonna get a nobody.

Seems fair.

Was you one of them though chuckie was coming to town, chuckie never even though about coming here it was a joke to him he wont never coach at the college level, so we need to go get Strong or Stoops either can bring us back to the top within 3 years no coach can put us back to the top in 1 year.:ermm:

People have every right to voice their concerns and be worried about the future hire. Especially when p.o.s. coaches like Al Golden, Charlie Strong and Jimbo Fisher are being named as the front runners. You've got one guy bringing in top five recruiting classes in the ACC every year and Fisher still struggles. The Big East might not be a powerhouse but it's still a BCS conference and you've got that guy scraping by Sunbelt garbage. If I recall, Petrino took people's lunch money and proceeded to kick them in the nuts while at Louisville. While not the best school, it shouldn't be difficult for Strong to run over Sunbelt junk. And the last guy... I don't care what kind of trouble Miami is in. Golden has been a bad coach there since day one and not that it has any relevance to his coaching ability but the dude wears a damn dress shirt and tie on the sideline.

If you want to get excited over hearing those names, be my guest. It's stupid for you to call people crybabies for not blindly getting excited about the idea of hiring one of those guys though. People have legit reasons for why they don't want them. You might as well save your time reading what people have to say and responding if all you're going to add is attacking people for letting their opinions be known. I gave my reasons on why I think those coaches suck and why I would not look forward to the future of UT football with them at the helm. If I had responded the way you responded to the OP, I would have just left it at "you're a jerk". That would have been pretty constructive, huh?

Gruden may not have made us relevant. Plenty of nfl coaches have failed on college level. Whose to say gruden would be different. We need to just rally behind whoever is hired and be positive

I thinking it is gonna be Charlie Strong or the Fedora guy. I think they are the top two and we'll end up with one of them.

I'm with you, if we aren't going to swing for the fences we should hav either kept Dooley or rehire Phillip Fulmer. Get ready for our yearly rivalry games to be against Vandy and Ky. What a joke!

Recruits were already saying they were waiting to see if Gruden was going to Tenn. Jalen Hurd being one. Now we are just a joke.

He is the only one I have heard of saying this. I don`t believe this "name alone" crap will get the 4* & 5* players flocking to Tennessee.
