Clark is good but not the smartest. Taking unnecessary 3's from half court...long 3's over and over...w plenty of time left...etc etc. She's talented though.

She makes those shots more than she misses. It is the fear that she can hit those Steph Curry bombs that opens up the lanes for all those open drives to the rim.

I picked Iowa over SC. Even though SC had size and more talent at each position (except for Clark), Iowa plays the new spread offense game whereas SC remains an old skool pound the paint team.

And that sound you hear in the distance? That far off train-like sound thundering in the distance? That's the sound of ESPN's PR department spinning up the "Caitlin Clark vs Paige Bueckers" marketing campaing for next season.

LOL. Called it and it didn't even take a day.

And as always, nice to see UConn getting more prime time exposure during the Final Four - even their current players! I wonder if that helps with NIL value? *snort* Never change, ESPN.

I find the interest in Bueckers weird. She has zero personality. Her interviews are always ?????

Just don’t see it.

There’s a difference form a head scratcher and someone being held the entire game. If y’all are going to @ me then come better…
I watched the game and do not support/follow either team. I frankly saw questionable calls on both teams. You obviously are biased for USC and that’s fine, but I disagree that the calls were one-sided against USC. BTW, not everyone is coming at you.

I really enjoy Iowa's brand of offensive basketball....Shoot the 3 ball, usually by Clark, and hold on....Great fun to watch.

To me, Clark is the greatest female basketball player I have ever seen.

Any other volume 3 shooter, even very good ones, will shoot you out of games with those shots sometimes, see Amoore. For Clark, those logo shots just keep defenders flumoxed.

That's the apparent genius of Bludder, who has figured out how to avoid Pete Maravich syndrome with Clark. Of course it helps that Clark does so many other things so well, especially passing. The spread may look "new", but it was the old fashioned pick and roll that worked over and over. They definitely get overshadowed, but Iowa's supporting cast is awesome with timely 3s of their own. Cz is a very, very good compliment to Clark.

I'm still gobsmacked by easily Clark blew by supposedly elite one on one defenders like Beal. I knew about her 3 pt shooting and passing, but had no idea she was that quick to the rim.

It’s funny because had this game been called the way it was called against the Lady Vols y’all would be livid. Your hate for one individual (which isn’t even warranted) allow y’all to ignore how bad this game was called. Boston and Cordosa got hit all night, they the players deserved better.
I believe you and me was watching the same game.
I wasn't surprised by disparity of the whistle blowers moving in Iowa's favor or the ignoring TV announcers bootlicking on Catlin .
When last year NPOY was zebra benched , I knew her sceptre and crown was being passed over to Clarke.

Weird take but ok

SC fouls only came to even when they had to foul at the end. There was excess contact from South Carolina all night.

Clearly based on head to head play the proper person was named POY. In a big moment Boston completely disappeared. Mentally took herself out of the game and then physically benched herself with fouls.

Clark dropped 40 even though she picked up her second foul at the 8:30 minute of the second quarter. Stayed in the game, played smart and torched every defender SC threw at her.

She's really something. Last night's performance reminded me of Bill Walton in '73. I hate giving UConn players credit, but Breanna Stewart is up there, too. If I was going to build a team, I'd want Clark and Stewart, but Clark would be #1.

Weird retake but yeah
Boston disappeared in the midst of the hacking arms and bulging bodies of Iowa players. Mentally zapped in sorrow by zebra fatigue.
Clarke dibble drive to the right , with a shooter on your right and the left side loaded , left a boulevard opening with no help. She shredded Beal ( unbelievable) several times , but she AINT all that.

I know SC fans have no recent experience losing, but ref whining and physicality complaints about this game are way beneath what the've accomplished. And ironic to a ridiculous degree. But not surprising.

And the notion that anyone in the universe has been more "bootlicked" than Dawn Staley and everything SC is just not compatable with reality.
I realize reality has little to do with these things though.

I am slightly sympathetic to how much this hurts. I still get a bad twinge when I hear, Duke, Greensboro, or Gail Gas. and that was almost 25 yrs ago!

(BLUE)She just don’t have the players Iowa has. Recruit Recruit Recruit or go portal. If they’d had game in Greenville would have been different IMO sort of quasi home court ad.

For all the fouls that were called there were also a lot of bodies flying around and falling on the floor that were not called. I had to watch the replay to confirm it but there were two times that Iowa got called for a foul and it was a SC player knocking over a teammate. I don't think the refs changed the outcome.
