Re the game: you can win a lot of games when your PG is money from the FT line in the last minute. Which Golden is.

Also: back in December, when UT suffered those embarrassing losses, I opined that maybe Coach Martin was Derek Dooley without the orange pants and the attitude. But I was wrong. CCM has steadily built this team into winners. It will be only the NIT this year, but the future of UT basketball looks bright.

Golden has struggled late some, but his FT shooting late has been a savior more often than that.

Scored 5 of last 7 in OT. Give credit where credit is due.

His late game heroics makes my point. I said he is Hopson2.0... which means his is all world one game and no where to be found the next. Fortunately he managed to turn it around in the second half of this one. He won the game on the late drive 3 point play and iced it with clutch free throws.

What he did in the second half DID NOT erase what he did (or didn't do) in the first half. However it did show he's got heart and doesn't give up despite how bad he might have played in previous minutes.

Getting late. Hopefully momma already put the rubber sheets on the bed because we definitely got some bedwetters....

Reasonable, I'll accept that.

I really don't have a problem with the ops comments during the first half performance of Golden. Coach Martin and Golden himself upon reflection would have probably said the same - terrible half by our point guard. Partially why we were down 11 at the half. He turned it around in the second half and played much better - congrats to him and the rest of the team. They don't always play well but they always play hard so give them credit for much better defense in the second half and an inspiring win.

He is freaking Hopson2.0.

Sooooo inconsistent from night to night. How many turnovers does he have tonight!?!??

yet clearly he is still our best option as evidenced by his play in the 2nd half

no point whining about everything he does, he isnt going anywhere.

not really, I feel like a genius. He proved my point and I didn't even have to wait for the next game.

You must have very low standards for what is considered a genius. Very quick to give up on a kid and throw him under the bus, and then act like you're all knowing. Saw a stat prior to the game that he is responsible for about 38% of the scoring this season whether it is his scoring or assists. The real fact is this team is better with him, even with his bad spells. Shame that some don't see that and despite a few bad plays immediately call for his head.
