You must have very low standards for what is considered a genius. Very quick to give up on a kid and throw him under the bus, and then act like you're all knowing. Saw a stat prior to the game that he is responsible for about 38% of the scoring this season whether it is his scoring or assists. The real fact is this team is better with him, even with his bad spells. Shame that some don't see that and despite a few bad plays immediately call for his head.
Really? You must have only watched the 2nd half... because he probably only had a few mistakes in that half...
Until he strings a few consistent games together he's still Hopson2.0. Which isn't exactly a bad thing... it just means you never know what you're going to get. Problem with Golden is that he's the PG... so when he's screws up **cough** **cough** **5 turnovers in the first half** **cough** it can actually not only cost US points but also contribute to the opposing teams points. Whereas with Hopson if he had a bad game it was primarily limited to his offensive production, which sure, hurt us, but it didn't directly help the opposing team.

Vs. USC: 21 points, 1 assist, 6 TOs, 1 rbd, 1 steal.
Vs. Ole Miss: 11 points, 5 assists, 2 TOs, 1 rbd, 1 steal.
Vs. Bama: 12 points, 2 assists, 6 TOs, 3 rbd, 1 steal.
Vs. Arkansas: 13 points, 7 assists, 4 TOs, 2 rbd, 1 steal.
That looks pretty damn consistent to me. That's his last 4 games prior to tonight.
annnnnnnnnnd my point exactly.
thank you, come again.
his numbers on the season:
13.3ppg 2.8rb 4.6ast 3.0to 45%fg 39%3pt 83%ft
care to guess where each of those numbers would rank amongst the sec pg's???
PPG: #2
RPG: #5
APG: #3
TO: #8
FG%: #2
3PT%: #1
FT%: #2
thats an average of #3.2...so in other words statistically golden is a top 3 PG in SEC...

Hopson had pretty good numbers too... I'm not arguing that Golden isn't a great player (at times). His stats obviously suggest that... However 18 points one night and 8 the next then 20 then 6 equates to 13 points a game on paper but when you have to sit through the 8 and 6 point games after having seen the 18 and 20 points games... it's enough to make you go crazy. Just like Hopson. He needs to learn to be more consistent. Because when he has a bad shooting game, 9/10 he's also turning the ball over too which typically results in a loss for us.
I love how you all like to act like the first half didn't happen. It's not rocket science... This game MADE my point FOR ME!! Normally we have to wait for another game for him to start playing better... fortunately for us, it happen in the second half of this game.
and newsflash... JARNELL STOKES is the reason UT was in this game late. Otherwise OT doesnt happen and Golden's not the hero and you all that are booming Golden are bad mouthing him to your coworkers at McDonalds or Wendy's tomorrow morning (afternoon at Wendy's... they don't serve breakfast).
you're right because trae didnt do anything in the 2nd half.
you're basketball knowledge is laughable at best.

I never said he didn't do anything. I am saying the credit for keeping us in this game goes to Stokes. People are acting like Golden went off in the second half. He had a great drive foul 3 point play and he hit clutch free throws in OT (which I've credited him with doing so in previous posts). But again... we're not in OT without Stokes. Give credit where it's due.
I hope you at least got a laugh out of this post. I've done my job if so.
