Gone but not forgotten: Knoxville area restaurants and retailers we miss.

I need some help because this is driving me crazy. There was a soup/sandwich type of restaurant in Turkey Creek about 10-15 years ago. When I worked in that area everyone loved it, but I hated it.

All I remember about it was you got these really hard, skinny little crunchy breadstick things. They were free, but they also sucked.

Any ideas what that place was called? It was in the plazas on the west side, closer to Campbell Station.
Pot Belly?

My son and I went one Friday afternoon years ago after he had seen them on a SEC channel about the Vols. It was a fun, memorable occasion just as advertised.

I had posted this video about East Towne Mall once before in here but thought that I would
repost it since you had posted the video of the grand opening and it's kind of like showing the Mall in all of its Glory and then seeing its sad demise 😒

Its hard to believe that people used to smoke everywhere, I quit smoking five years ago but I remember smoking in theaters, restaurants, hospitals and
just everywhere, even on the sales floor in the eighties we has ashtrays on our desk and smoked right there.
Every store in the mall had ashtrays.

Arby's, Long John Silver's, Hills, the Penny Pawn, and Texaco signs were what I really enjoyed seeing again. That was a neat stretch of signs when I was a kid.

*Hwy 33/ Broadway hasn't changed much between Brown Gap and Merchants since that video.

**The Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack was a nice touch. 😂

You know the sad thing is, like my Dad said "You can never go back". And through the years I have seen that even if you do go back, it's never the same, different people, different era, time never stands still ☹️. I went to West Town Mall the other day....and it's like yes it is the same location, but will never be the same as when I played pinball there.....
