Guys, lets just collectively ignore UT IE 95. The guy clearly does not want to be a happy UT fan, and he obviously does not want to acknowledge any success. Let the poor guy be miserable and grumpy by himself. The guy hates UT, and he can't even put together a logical argument. No point in wasting any time on him.

Every team worth a damn has this same situation. It's college basketball and good teams have frequent turnover. What percentage of scoring loss from last season did the national champs have?

This is a played out excuse. There is plenty of talent on this roster to beat Austin Peay. All the star grazers have posted the ranking of this roster and it's fine.

Fact is, the SEC is a three tier conference. There is UK, a second tier, and a third tier. The second teir teams sucked and we moved from the third teir to the second. Look no further for conference suckitude than the fact that the team that finished second didn't even make the tourney.

Your statements are pretty flawed man. It is true that every team loses so much of their scoring from one year to the next but you aren't giving Tennessee or Martin the benefit of the doubt. When Martin took over (during recruiting season) we had a huge funnel cloud looming right above our athletic department that was fixing to level us. No decent HS talent was coming here. The difference between those teams and us is we lost 3/4's of our scoring, did not have the opportunity like a lot of other teams to replace it with decent prospects (minus Stokes, which was a major fluke), had a brand new coach that plays a completely different kind of ball than any of those kids were use too (minus Maymon and maybe Richardson) that had to hear a bunch of cry babies make references to Bruce Pearl every step of the way while he tries to keep a sinking ship afloat.

I agree we have enough talent than Austin Peay but that's why basketball is a team sport and that's the advantages of guys not buying into a new system -vs- guys that's played together and have nothing to prove (which worked wonders for most of Pearls underdog games against big teams)

And the only loss I fault the team for is the MTSU one because they clearly were a better team and played with no heart. All the early loses are nothing and the Ole Miss loss was pretty much an off night for a couple of guys (which happens) so to go back to the Memphis loss, it was embarrasing but predictable. I guarentee no one embarrases this team next year because unlike last year, we have an identity now and have shown that we can play with the best teams in the country.

UK returned 54% of their scoring. Nice try.
Florida returned 56% of their scoring, Bama returned 72%, Vandy 96%. tOSU 66%, Louisville 73% etc. etc. Yep, happens everywhere or should I continue?

Bruce sure did a great job of developing them, didn't he? It's basketball, bad losses happen. Seem to recall we lost to a Div II team at home by 15 when we were ranked in the top 25. How quickly you forget the Charlotte and Oakland losses from Bruce's last year.

Yep, SEC sucked so bad that 2 of the final 8 teams were from the Conference.
.

Take it up with your buddy asking about a 15-loss Bruce Pearl thread.

Says the guy with no leg to stand on. Did you advocate for pearl to be fired? He wasn't fired for his losses. Pearl had double digit losses a few times, did you melt down then?

My guess is no. So I guess you just have an agenda against Martin. We already knew that, we are just waiting on you to admit it.

In honor of UT having a nice recruiting night. Not finished by any means, but the news of being in King's top four and a top two finalist for Hubbs deserves a bump.

You really bring the lulz

If you believe half of what the sunshine pumpers post in this forum you'd think Martin was a shoe-in HOF coach.

Some people are getting all moist over kids listing UT in their interested list of college destinations.

There are some crazy fan forums for SEC teams, but the volnation basketball forum may top them all in homerism, which is pretty impressive.

Bottomline - will Martin win this year more than last year? Who knows. But if he starts the year off like last season and has a dead flat team at the midpoint, I'll be equally disappointed.

Is that the first time someone in the basketball forum has been called a sunshine pumper?
