This thread is an absolute gem. The trolls that make ignorant statements for immediate shock value are usually the ones that never return after the release of their hot steamy mess of verbal diarrhea, but the one that started this thread is a special breed that I like to call "confidently stupid."

I'm even more excited for the future of this discussion, however. People like this usually get more defensive and unreasonable as they continue to be proven wrong, so as much as we've enjoyed the content thus far, I think we can expect bigger and better things in the future.

The internet has given every fan the ability to express his opinion, but rarely have ignorance and opportunity so perfectly coalesced as they have in this thread. Pretty amazing.

I was at the practice this weekend. I watched Robert Hubbs stand on the "T" and bomb 35-foot threes. While I was watching, he made four of six. Offense against a zone, coming right up.

I have never been banned. Not for sure what you are talking about but it doesn't matter. Your inability to acknowledge or recognize how knee-jerk this thread was has drained you of the little bit of credibililty you might have been able to salvage with some humble pie.

Coming off a 15 loss season with the finale being a home whipping courtesy of MTSU.

The "confidently stupid" opinion is based on wins and loses. I'm not sure what your opinion is based on.

I've not been defensive or unreasonable. I've stated my opinion with facts from specific coaching moves and decisions in specific games.

If you are going to call me "confidently stupid" at least have some basis other than a blanket statement that I continue to be proven wrong. Didn't we get embarrassed my Memphis? Didn't we lose to APSU and MTSU? Didn't we have multiple late game situations with poor coaching? Don't we have a team without an identity?

I look forward to you expressing your opinion on this matter. Since I'm the one that is "confidently stupid".

Didn't we beat UConn? Didn't we beat Florida twice? Didn't we beat Vandy at home? Didn't we thrive in a couple late game situations? Didn't we finish with a flourish? Didn't we become a hard nose defensive team that runs the ball through the posts?

Yeah, they did. You just continue to blatantly ignore the second half of the season.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. So don't blast me.

I think the most rational thing to do is to accept two things:

1)We had some really bad moments last year.
2)We had some really great moments last year.

IE can take any of the bad moments and say "look this is why CCM sucks" and we can take any of the great moments and say "look this is why CCM is great." Was this thread a bit premature? Yes, probably so. That doesn't make the bad moments that he's bringing up to support his opinion any less valid. It's his opinion. He is entitled to it even if it is different than everyone elses.

Were the Austin Peay, MTSU, and Memphis losses pretty bad? Yeah, they were. However, beating Florida twice, Vandy, and UConn were all pretty dang impressive. The fact is, we were not supposed to be a very good team last year. We showed that in the bad losses. We also showed how CCM is able to coach teams up to play well in big games and finish 2nd in the SEC.

Yes, this thread is ridiculous. Yes, it probably is premature. However, it's like my grandpappy used to say... "Don't let the facts get in the way of a really good argument."

Go Vols!
