Martin didn't have a chance in recruiting because we hired a second rate coach from a third rate school.

Calipari didn't have a problem recruiting his first class to UK in the wake of the disaster Gillespie left him.

When will Martin be accountable to winning or at least being competitive? He has all the excuses lined up this year. Will everyone expect more next season? Or will that be a "rebuilding" year too.

I only pulled one from many of your posts in this thread. They show just how someone should exercise patience and keep their mouth shut. Alcohol or drugs are not your friend.

This is very comical and sad to look at.

You should go to the Football thread and post. You will have a 5 almost 6 month head start and some support.

The best part is that he continues to try to justify this ridiculously dumb thread...

Prob by year 3 the thread title will be applicable, but it will be out of panic that he's leaving for a better job.

Not so fast, my friend. If he can lead UT to the promised land, I don't think that Hart, the UT Alumni, the facilities, and the fact that the SEC has become a basketball force will let him leave. Unless I am totally misjudging CCM, if he builds a championship program here, I don't think he will leave.

And, I don't see why so many are giving 95 such a hard time. Without his hilarious responses, this thread wouldn't be building such steam as the best in VN history. Carry on.

I agree, but that will not stop our idiot fans from blowing a gasket.

pretty much sums it up

I'd only be concerned about that if a UNC/Duke/UK/KU type job went after him, or Purdue since that's his alma mater.

Interesting that he was a terrible hire, but we are already now worrying about him leaving for another team after one season. Consistency is what I really like.

It will be tough. Right after he takes us to our first final four in school history, and Cal gets a 4 year show-cause order from the NCAA, Kensucky will come calling.

+1 Don't want to lose this thread in my other posts. Still like to laugh at it.

A mistake about what? They got kicked in the pills in Memphis. If they didn't improve Martin should have been fired. At that point in the season they were playing lifeless uninspired basketball. Coaching mistakes were plentiful. We were a crappy defensive team who was billing themselves as a good defensive team. Our coach was known for benching hot players and drawing up 40 foot shots at the end of games.

They have improved. Good for them. Martin's seat went from hot to warm. You guys willing to let a coach "develop talent" are killing me. This is NCAA Basketball - not some church league. If you're willing to accept losing to AP at home, then that's what you'll get.

Major LULZ.

Also, it needs to be said Memphis is 23-8 and going to the tourney. We lost by 15 to them at their place.

It wasn't that bad of a loss.
