Good thing Tennessee didn’t hire Lane!

Kiffin made a complete arse of himself today. The only 4th down call that mades sense was the first one and even that is debateable.

As much as I hate bama, I am not at all displeased to see that tool embarass himself.

LOL! After running his mouth all week and basking in the attention (he does love him some spotlight) he could barely speak at the end of the half.

LOVE IT!!!

I was all for Kiffin coming back to Tennessee because I think the guy can coach BUT….after the silly “get your popcorn ready” and flipping the headset off and getting down 28-0 at half??? Nah I’m good. I’m never speaking his name on here again.
Lane Kiffin= Justin Bieber if Justin Bieber had been a crappy qb whose hall of fame level coach daddy had opened the doors for him.

It’s a

It’s a message board. If you don’t think threads are worthy of discussion, then stay out of them.

There’s more Kiffin threads than our own HC.

It used to be funny but now it’s just plain weird considering he left us back in 2009…..

a coach leaving for their dream job after 3-4 guys passed up is not something I’m gonna hold a grudge for over a decade.

You can deny all you want but if the shoe was on the other foot and we had a coach we offered one year into their current job who referred to Tennessee as their dream job, you wouldn’t care how their current job felt about it.

Plenty to not like about Kiffin but to hold a grudge for him leaving for his dream job makes you look like a clown.
No, sticking up for Kiffin makes you look like a clown. Honestly I think it's very suspect for a vol fan. Tennessee was still 1 of the top jobs in the country at the time so all that dream job talk is crap bc he wasn't coaching at a mid- major program. IDC what his reason for leaving was, he still left us for dead. You don't go and repropose to someone who already left your ass at the alter, just bc their dream person all of a sudden becomes single smh.

Why is that we lose and everyone is gnashing teeth ready to fire the coach after 2 games but we beat a bad team soundly and we are ready to build statues. Truth is we handled business today and it showed progress but we still have a long way to go. I get the excitement. I'm just hoping this subsides the " look how terrible we are, Heupel isn't the guy" talk after our next loss.

He’s a phenomenal coach. I wouldn’t complain at all

Hold that thought until we beat Ole Miss.
Win or lose I would never want Kiffin back for several reasons.
1. He’s still immature in my opinion and his antics would compound the irritation of fans should he not win.
2. Although it’s not solely his fault he is still partially to blame for the mess Tennessee is in today. When he jetted in the middle of the night it caused the administration to panic hire a losing coach from LA Tech named Derek Dooley and we all know the story from there.
3. And if the way he left wasn’t grimy enough he and Coach O tried to pull players from Tennessee to follow them to USC.
Maybe some Vol fans can forgive and forget and that’s cool. I actually commend you. I just can’t do it though.

He left Tennessee to go to Southern Cal which he was vocal about being his dream job. Given their penalties from Carroll era, 3-5 guys passed the job up. Add in the fact that Mike Hamilton wrote in a weak ass buyout number if Kiffin left, not sure why you are PMS’ing so hard 12 years later for the guy leaving for his dream job. And once again, you wouldn’t bat an eye if Tennessee was in USC’s position with a coach in the same situation.

And sorry to break it to you…. At the time, USC was a major upgrade over Tennessee at the time. Tennessee was a decade removed from the BCS as a whole. USC was ripping off BCS games left and right.

And the ex girl analogy is so overplayed. I’ve never seen people so happy to be miserable than actually risk being wrong.

People would rather lose TO Kiffin than win with him. Pretty comical. Just like they would when Currie was going after Mullen and then last year when Freeze’s name was being rumored given his bad record. Pure comedy from folks.

I’ve only wanted him back in one specific instance. That was AFTER Schiano Sunday and then we were down to people who would be first time head coaches. At that point, Kiffin was publicly and privately lobbying for the job and when compared to Mel Tucker and Jeremy Pruitt, he was lightyears ahead of both. It was also a foregone conclusion that he would be in the SEC within a couple years. Given all that and how ass backwards the state of Tennessee was at that point with Tucker and Pruitt, I’d rather ride with Kiffin than wind up getting beaten by him when he was gonna end up in the conference anyway

Regarding Dooley, we didn’t get him because of Kiffin. We got him because Hamilton didn’t want to pay buyouts to Kiffin’s staff that didn’t leave with him and was forcing any new coach to take them. That’s The main reason Cut turned us down.

Heupel is like the off brand version of Kiffin. It’s like you’re just paying for advertising.

Duke staff.

Not necessarily. A lot of Cut’s staff was Tennessee staff that got canned when Fulmer did so Hamilton didn’t want to pay to bring back guys he just fired lmao. Hamilton truly was a moron. I believe his buyout he wrote for Kiffin after year 1 was less than a million. So dumb

The admission that you wanted Kiffin back in the first place just proves how badly you needed an enema. If he were to be rehired, the only reason I would not hope every junkyard dog in town would bite him would be concern for the dogs having a bad taste in their mouths afterwards. And the fact that Ole Miss hired him makes me hate Ole Miss even more than Georgia.

Glad you finally had a good healthy BM.

Super embarrassing for him. A lot of media roasting him for it.

That’s the beauty of the SEC. Arkansas and Ole Miss will prolly be top 20 teams when they play next week. Just as Kiffin will get reamed this week, Pittman will too for their showing vs UGA about being overrated. The loser of Ole Miss and Arky will have bad time the following week

Sorry to break it to you, but USC never has been nor ever will be a major or even a minor upgrade over a Vol head coaching position.

Lane Kiffin is a low life piece of trash. We are in part in our position because left after year one. Partly because UT didn’t have a castrate clause in his contract. Partly because we panicked and hired Dooley. When Kiffin took the job, it was at the top of desired head coaching jobs in the NCAA. The aforementioned caused it to be lower tier. He’s not wholly responsible but partly and for that reason alone every true Vol fan should hate him.

Good news is a few years later, the smug USC fans were chanting “Fire Kiffin” and when the USC admin did so, they did it VERY unceremoniously. He begged for his job for two hours in front of the team outside the bus, and they left his sorry rear at the airport without a ride.

And he’s black balled here so we may as well quit bringing up him because he’s Never coming back.

You’re clearly trolling or just not smart. At the time, USC was a top 5 job in the country. Tennessee was Top 25 at best. Even now, Tennessee’s only selling point is the conference it plays in. There’s a reason the coaching candidate pool at Tennessee starts with mid majors and USC’s will start with big names. Saying Tennessee was a better program and job in 2009/2010 when compared to USC is the kinda stuff the drunk rambler sitting by himself at the bar says.

And regarding those fans at USC, there is big consensus now that his record there was tainted by the scholarship reductions and punishments from the Carroll era that he inherited. Not like USC got better after firing Kiffin.

It’s clear you are not a rational person to discuss a topic without bias. Stay triggered at a football coach that has direct impact on your life day in and day out a decade later!
