Wouldnt your proposal here be the equitable solution? Instead of singling out those with only certain preexisting conditions to be grouped away from the rest. Even if that grouping is given priority.

If you have to ask the host to ask the others you are still asking. Even if its through an intermediary the request stems from her personal choice.

So you'd decline to wear the kippah at a Jewish funeral? I mean, it has no public health benefit. It's just some kooky symbolic request that people make for no good reason. Screw their wishes! You were talking about the intelligence of the other justices leaving Gorusch out of the 8 you referenced. I believe you left him out on purpose considering the nature of the discussion you have had to that point.

To the last if you have 1 person that makes a special request of a number of others and all but one comply I would be more thankful that most complied rather than calling out the one who didnt. Catch more flies with honey. Now I guess your angle here is that Sotomayuer didnt call Gorusch a douche. But considering the OP made that jump, and i have seen several other references outside this board to that point, it seems like it got around that she wasnt happy and complimentary with Gorusch.

No, the point is even if it were only to accede to the wishes of a colleague out of respect and kindness (and I have no doubt he would wear a kippah at a Jewish funeral), one who preaches the value of civility and kindness in public life would have acceded to that wish. He didn't. Now add on that there is ALSO a health reason for why he should have acceded to that simple request and he becomes an even bigger douchebag.
