Well, lets just fire another coach. It's not like paying another fired coach at an athletic department that has not generated a profit in the past two years will be a variable that factors in to who the university can or cannot afford to hire.

One of the problems that so many do not even consider is that even if CBJ was already fired the University does not have the money to hire a coaching staff that will live up to the expectations of this fan base. There is no way around the economic part of the situation. The fan base wanted Fulmer fired. This led to a number of events and horrible hires that have brought the program to where it is now. Deal with it, people. This is a major reality in the situation.

I've always said that players make the coach. If that is indeed true, we need a boat load of studs to actually turn this mess around. The good news is (if there actually is any) ...........it appears we've got the Titantic (full of recruits) ready to dock in Knoxville.

He's a COACH...Not a magician....You can't polish a turd...He doesn't have any talent on this team to coach up...But he will!....Stay tuned :salute:

4. No size. The biggest guy on the team, 6'8", 350lbs is arguably the most useless player on the team. Our OL is freakin huge. We have 6'4 and 6'5 WRs, both our RBs are 200+lbs. Disagree on this point. Otherwise, nice, if incomplete, list.

Fact is, we're stuck with Butch and his coaching or lack of coaching. Butch's only option is to recruit, recruit, recruit and hope it covers up is inabilities. We were all so very disappointed when the Gruden drama came to a close and we ended up with a coach from Cincinnati. We are now knee deep in reality and it does indeed suck, but it's all we have presently. Just when we think things can't get any worse, we get a huge dose of reality!

Still kills me that people are upset when we lose even though we pretty much don't have a QB right now. Dobbs threw for something like 45 yards. Really?

I wish people would get their panties out of a bunch about this "best staff in the nation" nonsense. Tell me...why would the best coaches in the nation want to come to Tennessee right now? We have been through 2 coaching searches that left us getting Dooley and then Butch Jones. I remember what I thought about Butch when he was first hired. I was not enthused. We can't even attract or keep former players who became coaches. Why would the best coaches in the nation come to UT? Did anyone really think he was going to be able to bring in the top in the nation? What did you expect him to say when talking about the coaching staff? That he was going to get who he could? I'm sure he was pumped up and thinking he could do anything as head coach of the Volunteers. There are plenty of issues to go around but quit whining and complaining about the coaching staff. I swear...this fan base is a joke. The idea of having a place to come and discuss your favorite team is awesome but I'm getting to the point where I would rather discuss the Vols with my 7 year old daughter than some of the clowns that post on this forum.

Ok that would be a good reason the first 5 or 6 games of the season but by game 11 there should be considerable improvement especially playing vanderbilt at home with 2 weeks to prepare. Vanderbilt does not have more talent than UT they simply have a coach that gets the most out of what he has

Was talking more about corners, safeties, etc. I agree we have a 6'8" 350 pound pile of useless on defense. I wont name any names..

Does this somehow only apply to UT? The opponent improves as the year goes on too, you know.

So its ok to call players turds and losers etc? But we cant criticize the 4th highest paid coach in college football? Makes alot of sense
