Gotham season two featured a lot of famous DC Comic villains including; Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Hugo Strange and the return of Fish Mooney. With so many characters already in the mix for season three, executive producer John Stephens announced some more villains that are on the way to join Gotham.
Well be seeing Mad Hatter in Season 3. Well be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if were going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, well be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy.
Jamie Chung, who has been playing Mulan in a recurring role on ABC's Once Upon a Time has been cast as Valerie Vale on the 3rd Season of Gotham. Earlier this month, it was reported that Vicki Vale, the ace reporter played by Kim Basinger in Tim Burtons Batman, will make an appearance on the show.
While we still dont know who will play her, we now know Chung is a piece of the puzzle as Valerie is Vickis aunt. Shell be seen as the newest addition of the "Gotham Gazette" who investigates Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) in an attempt to discover the truth behind the shady research facility Indian Hill.
Gotham will return on September 18 at 8 p.m. on Fox
Maggie Geha cast as new Poison Ivy!
Poison Ivy is going to play a much bigger role in the future of Gotham than she did the first two seasons, but in order to do that producers have decided to not only recast the role but dramatically alter it.
Previously,Ivy was played by Clare Foley and was right around the same age as Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), if not a year or two younger. Now actress and model Maggie Geha has taken over the role and Ivy is aging up.
As FOX explains,Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman whos harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.
So gone is tween Ivy, here comes an older woman who wants to use the full power of her charms on Bruce. Given that Geha is 28 while Mazouz is 15 though, dont expect things to go too far. Hopefully they shine a light on her obsession with botany, though. After all, shes called Poison Ivy for a reason.
Regardless, it sounds like Bruce is going to need Selina to help him navigate around this new Ivy. And chances are audiences havent seen the last of Foley on Gotham.
The actress tweeted a photo of herself at the New York City home of Gotham as production on Season 3 begins. Perhaps the show is going to actually show her transformation from the younger to older Ivy.
With Geha joining as the re-imagined version of Ivy and Jamie Chung as Valerie Vale, the next season of Gotham is beefing up its female cast even more joining the likes of Bicondova, Erin Richards (Barbara), Jessica Lucas (Tabitha) and Morena Baccarin (Lee). Plus, cross your fingers, theres likely more Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) on the way.
Gotham returns in the fall to FOX.
TV Line revealed today that James Carpinello (The Good Wife) and (Person of Interest) has joined Season 3 of the Batman prequel series. He will be playing the son of John Domans Carmine Falcone, the powerful mob boss that was a big player in Season 1 of the series.
Here is how TV Line describes Gothams take on Mario Falcone:
The son of feared mob boss Carmine Falcone (John Doman), Carpinellos Mario has rejected his familys criminal ways and made a legitimate life for himself as a well-respected, Ivy League-educated ER doctor. Hes kind, honest and trustworthy, making him the black sheep of the Falcone clan. But and heres where the official character description gets interesting his arrival in Gotham will create major waves in the personal life of Jim Gordon, who at the end of Season 2 left town to find and win back his pregnant fiancee Lee.
The casting of Carpinello as Mario Falcone follows the recent news of Jaime Chung as Valerie Vale (aunt of Vicki Vale) and Maggie Geha who will be playing the new Poison Ivy. We will also supposedly be seeing the Mad Hatter debut in Gotham this season as the role is being cast right now. another big Batman villain from the DC Universe.
Gotham Season 3 premieres on Monday, September 19 at 8/7c on FOX, titled Better to reign in Hell.
