Gov Lee Signs State Bill SB-8005 Into Law

You honestly have no clue. Lol. It’s cute though. Talk to the D.A.’s Office. They can hand you a coloring book to explain it 😂

Watching you attempt to justify more laws (where some already exist) that are clearly meant to trample Constitutional Rights would be far more satisfying if at some point I thought you'd have a moment of clarity. I don't think you have that intellectual capacity, sadly. Have fun pigeon strutting with your mall cop badge.

Even in a state park you can't just camp where you want, you have to camp in a campground.

Right, there are laws for that as there were for posting up outside Lee's house in your six man Coleman with a ripped rainfly and three tent stakes.

No one's saying it shouldn't be illegal to break the law, just that a felony is an egregious abuse of power for being somewhere it's inconvenient for a politician.

Kinda torn on reading this. Why make more dumbazz legislation? If the people want to peaceably assemble then the government can F off and leave them alone. As far as congregating on government property hell they paid for it!

And if it turns violent or into a riot aren’t there already laws against that? 🤷‍♂️
So, to be clear, should we all be able to camp out on government property?

If camping/inhabiting in those public places is prohibited which I would guess it already is then no you shouldnt. However an extended sit in where people actually rotate thru frankly I don’t see how that’s illegal.

And I’d also submit camping/inhabiting on public OR private property should be more driven by managing the homeless that trying to stick it arbitrarily to protesting. Note I said protesting, not rioting or destroying ANY property public or private.

ALL people have every damn right to voice their displeasure with their government. And ALL people should speak up in defending that right. FFS that right is a founding principle in the formation of our country.

I don’t disagree.

Shutting a street down is how protesting works andthe right of peaceably assembling is codified in the Constitution. Jaywalking isn't.

You start off with shutting a street down is how protesting works then switch gears to right to peacefully assemble is in the constitution.

They aren't the same.

Shutting a street down is dangerous and does not fall under peaceful protest.

You wanna stand on the side of the road with signs all damn day go for it.

But standing IN the road or highway is illegal and not peaceful. Its deadly.

They arent remotely the same thing.

I think we should be able to peacefully assemble on govt property 24/7, but when you start sleeping there and building shelter, it's no longer an assembly.
Exactly the point of this. Cohabitation or blocking off roads to prevent citizens from driving on them is criminal

I didn't do that, that was a variable that Rick added. If you want to beat someone up for conflating arguments, @Rickyvol77 is your guy.

If you believe that is should be a felony, then you're argument deserves to be mocked.

What you've failed to address is that these things were ALREADY illegal, now you're advocating that that the perpetrators be charged with the most serious level of criminal behavior possible.... for what amounts to an inconvenience to a politician.

Same here. And from Lee’s own lips he said the same. It specifies violence. So, peaceful demonstrations should be fine.

So the police simply have to yell, "stop resisting" in order for it to meet the felonious threshold.

So just so I understand your stance.

You view peaceful protesting the same as jaywalking?

You also view blocking streets and highways as dangerous and illegal?

Trying to get clarity here.

If so, we agree.

No, one is legal and codified as a Right and one is a petty crime.

You also view blocking streets and highways as dangerous and illegal?

Of course, that's why there are laws that discourage it.

Peaceful assembly is done without a permit is breaking the law, there are ALREADY laws on the books to address this. Turning it into a felony that would remove codified rights permanently is an unconstitutional partisan stunt that reeks of tyranny. @Rickyvol77 is the one who inserted the "blocking traffic" as a hedge to get the legal aspect back on his side. He moved the goalpost to make his bad argument easier to defend.
