Holly could have played either nared or reynolds or both with 2 fouls..it became apparent real quickly that nunn and middleton were both struggling badly...Sometimes ya just gotta gamble a bit

Cooper and Hayes will bury Middleton on the depth chart next year. She will get Dunbar minutes.

Dunbar should be getting more minutes than both Middleton and Jackson. Everyone wants to talk about Dunbar's defense but since when has Middleton ever been even an average defender? She's basically Sydney Smallbone redux but she's not even as good of a shooter as Smallbone. At least Dunbar can score. The other two can't. Everyone wants to rave about Jackson's athletic ability as if it makes her a good ball player. She can't shoot and is careless with the ball. She's not even a great defender. Can't stop dribble penetration and gets blown by pretty regularly. She was abused defensively down the stretch.

And I haven't seen a LV team box out worth a damn since Pat retired. When a team is fundamentally poor, that is clearly a coaching issue. We've been a team of "ball watchers" for a while now.

MSST really isn't a great team, IMO. The fact that they are only up 8 against us right now shows how overrated they are.

We have fallen apart down the stretch here. Russell has been terrible the last 6 minutes, missed a layup, given up offensive rebounds and the miss. state center has scored on her twice. Terrible. DeShields has missed shots and committed a turnover, air balls: This is another classic spell of ugly basketball. And Warlick doesn't call a timeout.

I think Russell is tired. Nunn is her backup but she has to play Jaime's position due to Jaime's foul problems. Jordan is in foul trouble also. I think WCBB need to change the maximum no. of fouls to 6 instead of 5.

The loss of two guards from last year's team certainly shows up when Reynolds gets into foul trouble.

Last year, they had Reynolds, Carter, Cooper and Middleton attached at lead guard and they still sucked.

It's not that they lost those two guards from last year; it's the fact that they haven't had a strong lead guard in two years.

Middleton is not a point guard to slow and handle is weak. She could be of benefit as a shooter from the two. When she plays point guard against a quick one we suffer.

Dunbar has done even less than either player in the limited time she's had on court. At least Alexa and Meme get the job done against weaker teams.

Maybe it's the injury, but she has not been much of a contributor thus far this season.

I think you are selling both of them short. They may not be stars, but they are both good role players.

Precisely. They are bench players. They should get around 15 minutes a game a piece. The only reason they get the playing time they get is because of our staff's inability to recruit the last couple of years. And Middleton gets more minutes because of Te'a's injury. This team really misses Te'a, IMO.

Middleton, with about 5:30 left in half, dribbles into the side boundary, keeps dribbling until she finally decides to turn around and shoot with NO other teammate touching the ball the entire possession! When Nared went out with about 8:32 remaining in the half, this team imploded! Russell folded like a morning glory in the hot summer heat...don't know if stamina is an issue with her in that 2nd quarter. Air balls by Middleton and Jackson...and Holly says "we're taking good shots, just aren't making them." Someone please hit her in the head with a coal bucket and wake the coach up!

Te'a wasn't much to speak of last year either.

Honestly, both Alexa and Jordan are subpart as starters.

Have you even been watching this season? Dunbar's 3-pt shooting percentage is about half of either Middleton's or Jackson's and overall percentage is the worst on the team. She hasn't hit the broad side of a barn this year. She gets a bit of a pass due to her foot injury, but bringing her in is currently a downgrade to both our offense and defense.

Te'a was our 4th leading scorer last year as a freshman, and came on quite nicely in the tourney and played especially well vs. GB and OSU. I would take her over every other current guard on the team plus Draya, not named Diamond. I know that isn't saying too much. But at least she was aggressive and didn't stand there like a bump on a log like the vast majority of our other perimeter players do/did last year. Her main problem I had was foul trouble, which isn't terribly rare for a freshman.

I was speaking for when she is healthy. She really hasn't been given much of a chance thus far in her career. It's not like she's been injured since she got to campus.

Enterline is one of the refs so naturally they will suck. He's bad enough for the suckitude of more than just himself, TBH.

You see why our offense is often crap: Too much one on one basketball. DeShields is far too erratic on offense and just misses too many shots. And why is Nared going 1v1? This is why I don't like this offense: Warlick wants to play NBA-style with DeShields and Nared and everybody--and we're not good enough for that scheme.

Reynolds got called for her third foul girl slipped and fell should have been a walk. totally obvious and then we take two bad shots. We have to get this down to two or less by the end of this quarter.
