Greatest Plays in Vol History

Deon Grant's int. vs Florida in 1998. We don't make the Fiesta Bowl without it. Followed closely by David Leaverton's open field tackle of Peter Warrick during the game. Best offensive player in college taken down by a punter. It saved the game.

Shawn Bryson's big run against UF was pretty important as well.

For me, it begins and ends with Mose Phillips' run in a losing effort against South Carolina in 92.

I'd put Travis Stephens' long TD run with a screen pass in the last minute of the 01 UGA game. One of the greatest plays in UT history that is never mentioned because the Vols' defense went soft and let UGA go 60 yds for a TD in the last 40 seconds of the game.

Both of these plays were great individual efforts that were wasted.

Stoerner fumble has to be on the list. This is a good tread thanks for sharing.

Some others:

Leonard Scott's 100-yard kick return versus Georgia in 1999.

The fake end-around pass from Lucas Taylor to LaMarcus Coker in 2006 vs. Florida, and again in 2007 vs. Georgia, both times for a touchdown.

Darrin Miller's 96-yard intercepted pitch, escorted to the end zone by Terry McDaniel and Andre Creamer, vs. Iowa in 1987.

Reggie White blasting Dalton Hilliard in the backfield, vs. LSU in 1983.

Eric Berry's 96-yard pick-6 of Tebow vs. Florida in 2007.

The time the waterboy showed up at halftime and led the Muddogs to a championship and the whole series after the Clint Stoner fumble. The OL and Travis Henry ran it down their throats.
The Dwayne Goodrich INT for a touchdown during the FSU game was memorable as well...Peter who? 1 catch for 7 yards...pathetic.

Jay Graham's 68/69 yard TD run up the middle against Ohio St in the Citrus Bowl

Bill Duff's stuffing stop of Eddie George at the goal line in that same game.............

Manning to Kent for about 50 yards was sweet as well.

These threads are always a joke. The greatest part of the Tennessee tradition we talk so much about occurred between 1927 and 1952. That's when the guy we named the stadium after and whose maxims we use coached UT football. Yet, nobody on this board believes a great play was made prior to 19990.

Maybe you should go back to a 1952 thread...I bet they neglected great 1897 moments.
