Greatest Rock bands of Alltime

Led Zepplin

...in my lifetime, Pearl Jam and Dire Straits are about dead even. Guns n Roses gets honorable mention.

I love Pearl Jam, but I think you could also throw Metallica into that conversation.

You could...Metallica has become to machine-like over the years, although I did like their last album.

Good lord no. Metallica ceased to exist after their first three albums IYAM.

Van Halen (not Van Hagar)

stooges are amazing. Ron Asheton RIP

you know Mike Watt is playing bass with them now?
Also didn't know. I got to meet Mike Watt a few years back. I was at Warped Tour in Long Beach with my cousin, Mike Watt was playing with Peter DiStefano in a mixed set with Fu Manchu... It was in a teeny stage off to the side, they were on ground level on concrete with an EZ-up and there were maybe two dozen folks at most watching them during any point for the hour. We chatted for a minute afterward. Very cool, and also very odd to see so few people out of such a large crowd recognize these guys.

Totally Jealous. Loved the Ball hog or Tugboat solo record and tour.

Van Halen, nuff said. Fear the Mullet

With Roth, they are one of the best bands of all time. Without Roth, they are just another band.

The Van Halen umbrella includes Extreme. Ugh.

Agreed, VH with Sammy Hagar was bleh.

Yeah Hagar sucks, but his bar, Cabo Wabo in Baha is the shi1. Fine women cheap coke, cheap booze= real good times.

No G N' R, this far in? You suck, Volnation!

GNR is the second greatest band of all time behind the WHO in my opinion. They would have been the greatest if they could have grown up and not acted like children. 3 true albums is just not enough to be greatest all time though. Live like a suicide is actually left over AFD material.

So, um, what kind of coke are we talkin'? ha.
I've heard stories from people that have been. Supposedly a lot of fun.

AFD is the best album ever

MY favorite of theirs is UYI 2. It is one of the few albums I put in an listen from beginning to end.

AFD was a great album in a different way.

I still remember when both albums came out. Who knew it was their last.

Very sad day.
