Pretty much.
His voice was unique, and he had plenty of ability but if you think that he could sing as well as Freddie Mercury you are nuts. The two are not equal.
Now, if you are saying that Axl had the most kick-ass voice of all-time, I can roll with that.
I'm a big fan of Shinedown's version of "Simple Man". I like it better than the original.I personally like Brent Smith from Shinedown. He has great range and they say has never had vocal lessons.
Of the songs on the radio, you don't get much of a sample of the voice. But listen to their "simple man" and listen to the range he has.
