Greg Reid

In the radio interview with him that was linked in this thread yesterday he said I was going to visit Alabama but switched it to Tennessee but then Alabama came back strong so I decided to go to Alabama this weekend afterall. However he also said he may pick a school that he hasn't visited but if he doesn't visit you have to think it's not a good sign.

maybe we can get him in on the 30th

In the interview he said he was going the Georgia on the 30th and the interviewer ask does that mean Tennessee is out of the picture and he replied no. Reid was ask ok then when you line those hats up is it just going to be FSU, ALA and GA and Reid replied no I am going to have a few more hats up there because they have a chance I just may not be able to make take an official visit to them. He also said he has had coaches from another school bring down alot of film to look at just to see if I have a chance. I have no idea what that means exactly but that's just what he said. It certainly sounded on the surface like he is going to FSU but you never now. These kids now seem to have a "shock the world mentality". It's no wonder some have so hard a time adjusting to college we they are put on a pedestal their whole life and never more so then the recruiting process. I haven't figured out how to link on here but if anyone wants to listen to the interview a link is in post #68 in this thread. It takes about two minutes before they actually talk to Reid and you don't have to download to listen just click the play button. One last thing he did say the obvious and that is that there is no way I can visit Tennessee unless I delay my decision but then he went on to say but I'm ready to get this over with.

Per Bammers:

"Reid has now told Tennessee no thanks, and will instead visit Alabama this weekend. He is expected in Tuscaloosa tomorrow afternoon."

FWIW, Rivals shows Reid in Turd Town tomorrow.....

yeah...I'm sure Saban said, "if you visit Knoxville I will DeFINITELY rescind the scholarship offer." --- upstanding fella that Saban

Sounds like this kid either suffers from multiple personalities or the report we got yesterday was bogus.

Yeah...that's right...record of the previous season...that's why Notre Dame has such a good class. I just totally forgot. How could I be so stupid?:fool:

No way this guy comes to tennessee. ESPN reported that he just found out at the UA all america game that he is related to another recruit that is committed to miami

It is on "Friday's Mailbag" about half way down under "random stuff" after he answers the mailbag questions

A friend of mine from UGA told me about this rumor that doesn't really pertain to Tennessee, but involves Reid. He heard that one of the UGA coaches wanted to tell the other coaches that Greg Reid is all about getting attention, and that this is what the other recruiters for UGA needed to give him in order to get a commitment out of Reid. So the coach decided to text the other coaches helping with recruiting Reid. However, he accidently texted it to Greg Reid also. So basicly, Reid got a text from the UGA coach saying "Greg Reid is all about getting attention, so make sure we give it to him.."

Don't know if it was Richt, their recruiting coordinator, or another coach, but if its true then someone messed up big time.

When texting goes wrong, story at 10.

holy crap...if that's true, it has to be one of the all-time worst eff ups ever by a coach in the recruiting game.

I read somewhere where a girl texted her dad after her "first time" accidently while she was on spring break. You send texts to the wrong people and the s*** can hit the fan, quick.

I have definitely screwed up and sent the wrong texts to the wrong people on few occasions. Luckily, nothing like the Reid situation or something that big. But was definitely embarrassed.

A couple of years ago my ex g/f was texting me Dirty Messaegs, and I sent one back to her. I accidently sent it to my History Teacher. I was just typing her # in and I accidently put a 7 instead of a 2. Talk about embarassed in class the next day.
