Hail to the Washington Commanders

looking at the rest of the schedule, i only see 2-3 more wins. possibly carolina, KC, and Oakland. after the next 2 weeks, it's gonna get rough.

You have a Redskins tattoo? Hard core. You should post a pic.

Yeah, it sucks to be a Skins fan right about now.

Since I posted this in the "Gruden going to UGA" thread, I thought I would post it here too.

Rick Snider » Sources: Gruden atop Snyder's wish list | Washington Examiner

Sources close to Snyder say he began considering options to replace coach Jim Zorn after losing to Detroit on Sept. 27; a victory that ended the Lions' 19-game losing streak. The Redskins loss to Carolina on Sunday was its second in three games to a winless team. It followed a turbulent week when Snyder hired an "offensive consultant" to give Zorn another "fresh set of eyes" on a beleaguered offense.

Snyder has not contacted Gruden, say sources, but he believes the former Oakland-Tampa Bay coach might be the best fit among five Super Bowl winning coaches without jobs. Gruden currently is a Monday Night Football commentator who arrives in Washington for the Redskins-Philadelphia Eagles game on Oct. 26. Snyder and Gruden could meet during routine pregame research for the MNF program

Gruden could be our coach by November

Sources close to Gruden say he's interested in the Redskins because of Snyder's free spending. Gruden felt undermined by Tampa Bay owners because they were $45 million under the salary cap in his final season. The NFL won't have a salary cap next year, leaving Snyder to spend freely for the free agents that Gruden prefers.

For real? No salary cap next year?? What are the odds of that happening? We need that like the Sahara Desert needs the rain

I just read that the skins haven't played a team this year that had won a game previously. Didn't know that, and it made me laugh like a maniac. Ridicule my team if you will, but being the first win for Detroit and probably KC is just amazingly bad.

really really bad news

Report: Washington Redskins' Chris Samuels may sit rest of year - ESPN

Chris Samuels could miss the rest of the season and may have to consider retirement after suffering a stinger in Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers, according to a report.

I hope he is going to be okay

Samuels suffers from stenosis, a narrowing of the spine that causes him to wear a neck brace for extra protection when he plays, and was already dealing with significant knee pain all season, according to the paper

If you go back through this thread and read all of my posts, you will see that I have mentioned the offensive line more than once. Nothing has changed there. The Skins refuse to draft any good linemen. That's our biggest problem right now, it's been our biggest problem for quite some time and it doesn't look to be getting any better. I can't believe nobody talks about our lack of talent on the O-line. It's crystal clear.

is KC the third previously winless team to earn it's first victory against the Redskins?

first Detroit, then Carolina, and now KC?

that's pretty pathetic, when the Redskins become the punching bag for teams that suck.

Yep and yep.

yep and like i said before, im done with them untill all three things happen.....snyder,zorn and campbell are all gone.

I would be laughing at the season the skins are having, but as a Cowboys fan, I have felt their pain and then some. And I can just see the skins getting it together and having a spectacular game starting just before Thanksgiving.

No... OWB was right, the Skins o-line is putrid. You don't succeed in the NFL without a good o-line, end of story.

I actually do want them to get better. That's my favorite football in the NFL to watch, when they are both doing well, playing against eachother.

it was a funny interview yesterday when a reporter asked him what his actual job is now that he has no play-calling duties and never really touched the offense. "I'm going to be on the sidelines keeping the spirits high"

Jim Zorn: highest paid cheerleader in NFL history

WASHINGTON—Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn held a press conference Sunday to reassure fans that, despite an inability to effectively execute their offense, defense, or special teams, the Redskins were still somewhat comparable to a real football team. "It's been a tough season so far, and even though we are 2-4, we still have players, uniforms, Motorola headsets—all the components that technically constitute an NFL team, sort of," Zorn said while grimacing and making a "so-so" gesture with his hand. "Sure, I was stripped of play-calling responsibilities by team management, and I really don't have any clue who will play quarterback for us this Sunday, but I swear to you, in a weird, very convoluted way, we are in the NFL." Placing his hand over the microphone, Zorn then spoke briefly with an unidentified man near the stage, and announced that, for what it's worth, the organization owns the Internet domain name washingtonredskins.com through 2010.
