Halzle on Nico, per Wes Rucker

This is him saying that Milton is the starter going forward. Hazel is in over his head and was awarded the OC job because of his loyalty to Heupel over the years. I would like to know who is calling the plays, Heupel or Hazel? If Heupel is letting the OC calls the plays then it was obvious that Golesh was the head and shoulders above Hazel.

Here you go folks, I found the entire presser for you. Around the 5:18 mark is where mentioned comments are made. But really, the entire video is interesting.

Not sure where the upside would be for Halzle to say " Milton sucks, Vol Nation is 100 percent right ".

Having lived through the abomination that was the Guarantano era, I'm all for QB changes if warranted. Milton isn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but he isn't the only problem with the offense.

Having the OC dress down the QB to the press is counter productive though.
Milton may not be the only problem, but the QB position will always be the biggest assest or problem on any team. When Milton can’t get everyone lined up fast enough, having to use 4 timeouts to prevent delay of game, having false starts and unforced errors, starts with the QB. Even Bru McCoy and others are not confident Milton is the answer and have no faith in him. Tells a lot when McCoy says what he says and the Hazel said this. There is a disconnect between players and coaches it appears.

If that's a " really high" level, then the qb of this offense needs to perform at an elite level. We won this game last year by 5 points and qb production was:
461 total yds 3td 0int
This year:
287 total yds 2td 1int.

With only 106 total rushing yds, "really high" doesn't cut it. Sounds like Halzle may not be ready for the big time yet.

Yeah and statistically if you make him move, he isn’t going to complete the pass. He is so easy to defend. A gap pressure is a guaranteed defensive win
I'm just saying. Most here have never tried to complete a pass with a 350lb monster wanting to kill you...most opinions here stem from freaking video game QBs with actual experience limited to pop warner.....he hurried the throw...ever seen a pitcher hurry a pitch...usually low...does he need to do better absolutely... But he wasn't terrible

That’s hard to believe, compared to what we’ve seen the last two years.
QB certainly isn't the only thing that has changed in that period.
Look at Milton in the last 2 games of last season - that's what Milton does with the same support as Hooker.

I turned it off after listening to the first couple minutes. It’s obvious he’s either clueless to what’s going on, or he a puppet on a string. We all seen the game mangment from Milton and in no stretch can you say Milton done a great job any thing, much less game management. He couldn’t get the team lined up fast enough and we burned Timouts coming out the half, getting pre snap penalties and and not being aware of the downs ot the time on the clock. Hazel is a clown!!

Blaming Joe for this past weekend is lazy and inaccurate. He played well enough to win. Does he need to get better? Absolutely. Our real problem is the offensive line. If they cant block, doesnt matter who the QB is.

Agreed. 287 yards and two touchdowns likely would've gotten the job done had the defense gotten some stops. Also, it didn't help that half of our drives in the first half started at 1st and 15 due to false starts.

Utah's QB was 12-18 for 159 yards and 1 TD and they dominated Florida.

Nico got banged up in the UVA game and noone even seen what happend, but they wanna run him out there against better competition with this line.

Throwing it in the dirt on 4th and 6 is the way to go. It’s almost like running out of bounds on 4th down when the game is on the line.
So your #1 issue with the Florida game this past weekend was him not converting a 4th down..... I'm afraid you only watched highlights if you think QB play was one of the top problems in this game.....

I would start with giving up 172 yards rushing to one running back. Made Etienne look like a Heisman hopeful.

Absolutely, and it is also the WR's not getting separation. This offense is designed to have at least one WR running free, but either defenses have adjusted well or this group is just not as good at creating that separation, resulting in a lot of throws into tight coverage. Between the OL issues and the WR drops and no separation, no QB is going to have a lot of success.

As you said, blaming Milton for the issues last week is the ultimate ignorant fan take. He needs to be better, and I'd be greatly surprised if the line tightens up its play and the WR's get him some open looks downfield if Milton isn't dramatically improved.

Defense giving up 7 of 8 3rd downs with several being 3rd and longs apparently was not an issue. It was Milton's fault.
