As crazy as it may seem...10-2/9-3 is not totally ridiculous and out of the question if you think about it. We've got some big time talent coming in that could make a huge impact right away.

Ark State, Chatt, UK, and Vandy (with Franklin now gone) should all be in the bag. So that's 4 wins.

Utah State is a scary team. But I think our talent and home field advantage will be enough to give us that win.

Oklahoma will be really good next year. And the game is in Norman. So that makes matters even worse.

Georgia will be losing their star QB of the last four years and some key talent. And we seem to always play them close for the most part.

Florida is coming off their worst season in decades and that game is at home. Honestly, I don't see a reason why we should lose that one. The time is now to take advantage and get our revenge.

Ole Miss will have high expectations this year. They are returning a ton of talent and the game is in Oxford. But, Ole Miss is a team that can be beat. They seem to fold in previous games of pressure.

Bama. This is one of the games where we could win solely on emotion alone. Kiffin will be returning to Knoxville after deserting us four years ago for the ex-girlfriend. It's on our home field and Neyland will be packed. Bama is also losing a ton of talent.

South Carolina will also be losing a lot of talent. They won't be as strong as they have been in the past.

Mizzou will be coming into Neyland with a lot of key players missing from last year's 12-2 team and may even be missing their star receiver. This game is definitely a toss up in my opinion.

In all honesty, I see us finishing 7-5 and heading to the Music City Bowl. But it isn't totally out of the norm to sneak a couple of wins from teams who have lost a lot of their star talent and to take advantage of home field advantage.

Definite wins: Ark St, Chatt, UK, Vandy.

Should-be wins: Utah St, Florida.

Toss-ups: Georgia, Ole Miss, SC, Mizzou.

Miracle upset: Bama.

Posi-Vol, Sunshine Pumper, Butch Supporter out.

If you go two deep, USCe is losing the least amount of talent. They have 5 or 6 Seniors, including Connor Shaw, and about 4-5 underclassmen to include Clowney, Quarles, a starting CB and maybe Ellington?? Plus we have them in Columbia.

Bama also has but a few seniors, McCarron and Norwood included. They are losing at least 4 starters to the draft including Kouanju OT, V. Sunsieri, and a few others. Mosley is leaving, don't know if he is a Senior.

OK and Utah St are both young and talented teams too.

FL & GA have lots of Seniors, lots of transfers, lots of early NFL declarations and lots of guys coming back from injury. They also have new OC (FL) & DC (UGA) coaching changes to name a few.

Vandy loses all their talent and their coach. I just hope Franklin takes his DC with him. That dude is mean and intimidating.

I like the fact We are playing Florida in oct....Will give us a few games to get ready for them and by that time they will be ready to jump off a bridge after the beating they take against Alabama 2 weeks before us.

UTC is top tier Southern Conference now, which means top tier Division I. Of course, we have them outmanned, but they do have the athletes to create some mismatches here and there. If South Alabama could stay within a touchdown this year, UTC is capable of giving us a game next. Wasn't that long ago that Appy St beat Michigan.

No "easy wins."

We'll kill them. USA much better than Chatt.

Did you just say "top tier division I"? That would be the SEC, not the Southern Conference. :lolabove: Although Tennessee was once in the Southern Conference prior to the formation of the SEC in 1934.

I'm pretty sure you meant "top tier Division II", right? No way are we losing to a D2 school.

Really, some of y'alls attitudes are just laughable. We made quick work of Austin Peay and WKU this year already.

I didn't make a prediction. Odds are we win by a few touchdowns, but the notion that we can take any game for granted doesn't meet with reality. The reality is we have had close calls against FCS (not called Division I AA or Division II anymore) schools in recent years. "Y'alls attitude" makes us all the more ripe to be upset.

(Pretty sure the Southern Conference has not been classified as Division II since 1972.)

Some interesting games "Could be" the following

UGA - no Aaron Murray
USC - no Conner Shaw
AL - no AJ McCarron (probably have the next Tom Brady as backup :banghead2:)

Just saying that graduation and Guys leaving for NFL could shake things up a bit!
Not saying we beat these teams, they just have a bit of rebuilding to do.
Don't Tazer me bra!

Thinking that we might have more than a 50% chance at beating Florida is wishful thinking. Yes Florida was bad last year, but we faced them at full strength early in the season and lost. I will not favor us in that game until we actually break their winning streak against us.

Chattanooga and Kentucky are the only easy wins.

Everyone else on our schedule except the Gators just played in a bowl and only Georgia and Bama lost their bowl games.

Okay...but when you say "Top Tier Division I" you literally mean it's like a BCS division, and I am certain you don't mean that. You must mean FCS....

Fair enough. I would add Ark State at home, and I am pretty sure Vandy without Jordan Mathews and Franklin will be easy pickings, but that's a "wait and see" opinion, I admit.

How I see it.....
Definite wins: Ark St, Chatt, UK

Should-be wins: Utah St, Vandy.

Toss-ups: Georgia, Ole Miss, SC, Florida.

Should-be Losses: Bama, Mizzou.

It's very difficult to see how the season is going to play out, but I see improvement on both sides of the ball. Here's to hoping the O-line can come together quickly and a QB comes out of fall camp as the clear starter.

UT has to make it to a bowl this year, or the recruiting class of 2015 is going to be walkons and 2-3 stars. No recruit is going to want to come here if it doesn't look like Butch and co know what they are doing, and are improving the program.

That being said, the only highly probable wins that I see are Chattanooga, KY, and Vandy. Everything else is either a long shot win, or a probable loss due to the opponent and/or away game.

If we can't beat Vandy thoughwith a new head coach installing a new system, then we just all need to pack it up. Arkansas State and Utah State aren't absolute wins, but Butch better find a way to win regardless, or he's going to lose the fan base early in the season.

If we can pull off those five wins, that just leaves us upsetting Florida, Georgia, or Ole Miss to make it to a bowl.

Actually, I started to say Division IAA initially, remembered that designation had changed, then forgot to correct it. The top tier of the FCS (Division IAA) is perfectly capable of beating bottom tier FCS (Division IA) teams, not favored to mind you, but capable of. Michigan was at least middle tier BCS when Appy St beat them. Just pointing out that the team most are considering the softest on the schedule is still a pretty good team... Southern Conference co-champ on track to being a National FCS (Division IAA) Championship contender next year.

When did this TN team do something to make one believe there is such a thing as an easy win for them in any game ?

Well we did beat the #4 team in country, when Worley was healthy, but I know that doesn't count because.......it just doesn't.

That was a great win, but I wouldn't exactly call it an easy win.
