This. Player development. These mizzou kids may not have had saban but they definitely didn't have Dooley to develop (or not develop) them the past 3 years.

I'm not trying to be an ******* towards you but the man is 9 games into his coaching career here. Now, if this is going on late next year and we haven't seen improvement then I'll be right there with you. This team is painfully slow and that is talent not coaching.

I agree its not solely on 5 star recruits but stability in a staff makes alot of difference in development. Even though dooley was here 3 years his staff wasnt. What few talented players we have has been through alot of different systems and coaches.

So I have to be a pessimist to see that our play calling was terrible tonight and we are not playing against superior talent.

I was trying to make the point that we are not inferior to them talent wise.

Why does it have to be a character attack if I disagree with someone's argument?

I absolutely believe that Butch will turn the program around, but there was no excuse to get out played like that tonight. So the coaches should be held accountable.

I gave you an example and you asked for more, I could have named 20 players and it would not have been good enough for you. If you can't see this team lacks talent then I can't make you see it so continue to blame the coaches or whatever because in the end CBJ is the coach and he's going to be here a while so get used to it. And the coaches aren't completely without fault but the biggest contributor to this team's lack of success is talent or the lack thereof.

Calling people stupid or dumb does not make you anymore competent by the way. Everyone wants to see the team succeed. The forum is for open discussion about the team and the coaching decisions. Show some respect to VolNation and quit the name calling.

What cracks me up is Tennessee has about 60000 fans that understand football and the process we r going threw and the other 40 or 50 thousand don't understand any of it they think a program that has been down for so Many years can be good in one year it just makes me chuckle a little

Our biggest problem I saw tonight was speed. We are slow on O & D. We also played very poor fundamentally tonight. Missed tackles, dropped passes, sorry blocking. This O line is a big disappointment & lack of discipline tonight was horrible, but we will get better & it will be even sweeter after the crap Hamilton, Kiffin & Dooley have put us thru .

Talent or no, there is no excuse for a Tennessee team to get blown off the field. Should we have won? No. Should we have been competitive and fought to the end? Yes!

Their 6'6" WR Beckham-Green who was the #1 WR recruit in the country 2 yrs ago. He made our D look stupid on the little slip screen for the first TD tonight. There.

Tennessee currently has 41 former 4 & 5 star recruits on roster.

Mizzou has 11

The O line is the one unit that, for years now (back to Fulmers last few seasons) has been praised. They have always disappointed. Maybe this years line more than any before. Seniors or not, they are an average SEC line. Mizzou's and bammers were both noticeably better.

Including this recruiting class, we are about two more classes away from being competitive in the SEC. Whether you like this or not is of no concern to me. Just fact. We do not have the horses at this time for the SEC. By the way, Butch Jones is , without a doubt, the right man for this rebuilding job.

On offense we just need some stability in staff and scheme foe a few years. Hopefully, we have incoming freshmen who can turn the corner, thereby opening some running lanes in the middle and making some games interesting next year. It's going to take a few years to get lines and skill positions synched.

On defense we need sideline to sideline speed. A couple of great LBs and DEs would do us wonders. Mizzou killed us because the defense can't cover the edge and the middle at the same time. When we guessed right we stuffed a lot of stuff but we guessed wrong far too often.

The info he is providing may be correct, but I suspect his goal is to get people ranting and raving about Hendrix possibly flipping and such so that Mizzou can try and use that against us if indeed Mr Hendrix is rethinking things. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

What we need is for Kelly and Wharton and company to show him some love, and Im sure they are/will.

I'll believe it when I see it. Sorta like the Grizzlies being a western conference finals team last year, fired the coach and have been crappy this year. However they just beat Houston on back to back nights which leads one to think maybe the corner has been turned.
