There's and article on gvx247 of an interview with him apparently talking about it. I don't have an account, anybody that does care to share what it says.

I'd like to see it too. IMO, he's gone. Too much looming over program to stick around

No actually I'm far from a writer for that site, and if I was that article would have been much better. I signed up solely so that I foul read that article and it was a 3 question interview with Harris that's it. Harris said he hasn't thought about the NBA at all and that he will start thinking about it after the year is over and make a decision. He did say that the "2 year plan" that everybody talks about was misunderstood from his father and that there really is no such thing. The plan is just for him to get better and keep winning games and that he wants to win a national championship he said. Not much that we didn't already know honestly, personally I hope he and Hopson both come back for one more year.

he's not ready yet. it would be a waste to not be a first round pick.

I really believe he would benefit from another year in the SEC and I would hate to loose him because we need all the big men we can get but if the NCAA comes down hard on us I wouldn't blame him

Rucker said he talked to some scouts a couple weeks ago and that he would go in the teens. If that holds up he'll be gone next year.

the draft must be down this year. i just can't see him as a first round pick. i like tobias, but i'm no draft expert, maybe he would go in the first round.

We won't know the results from the NCAA until June and the NBA draft is in June. So, if he or Scotty were to want to go pro, then they would have to declare it long before the results of the NCAA were publicly known.
Therefore, they won't base their decision to go pro or to stay on the results of the NCAA.
Neither of them has played themselves in to a first round selection. Scotty has played well lately but I would draft someone based on his last 12 games as a college player.
Harris needs to improve some also, especially his strength.

IMO, Scotty is a first round pick right now. If he stays another year and has an equally impressive and more consistent year next year, he's a lottery pick for sure.

Right now most mock drafts have Harris solidly in the first round, the 15-25 range. Hopson is high on some and nowhere to be found on others sounds pretty accurate. He's mostly found high 2nd round though. If Hopson and Harris continue to play the way they have been, especially Hopson and Tennessee can make a decent run both will be top 25 picks. I really hope both come back to Tennessee and believe both could increase their stock by doing so, while also maybe having a more successful season than this year.

I can't say I'd blame either of them. If both project in round 1 they should go. Way too much uncertainty swirling around this program.

I think scotty has shown that he is ready offensively, defensively he needs some work.

Haven't really seen the improvement with Harris this season, he has potential that he hasn't even tapped into.

I love it when people put forward the idea that a guy will improve more going to class, being coached by the Tony Jones of the world, and practicing and playing against college kids than focusing on basketball 24-7, working with the best player development guys in the world, and competing against NBA guys every day. It's ridiculous.

I agree to an extent. With the exception of Hopson the last few games, Pearl and Company haven't consistently taken high ranked players and made them better. However, going to school or staying in school would have definitely been better for some people. Most 18 or 19 yr olds are not ready for the life of the NBA. Look at the percentage of busts from jumping straight to NBA or now leaving after 1 year.

There are a little over 400 NBA jobs available. 10-15% of them are taken by international players. The average career length is 5 years.

With very, very few exceptions, if a person has the opportunity to get into the league, he should take it as early as possible.

Exactly, especially when being drafted in the first round essentially guarantees you 3-4 years in the league.

Wasn't it just a month or so ago that everyone was barking about how Scotty Hopson couldn't even dribble the ball and had no heart? Now he is a lock 1st round pick in the NBA draft? Crazy.
