Harrison Bailey

Uhhh Heupel got stuffed 4th and 1 and we got a 250 RB sitting on the bench!!! Also we ran out of the shotgun!!! So coaching is not a plus.
I watched a bunch of team get stuffed this week running short yardage. Way more then normal. Teams seemed to sell out on the inside run on the inside option and or the RBs in general.

Whoever it is, we need a QB that can throw the ball well…period. At a school with a big program like Tennessee, we don’t need a rec league approach with a QB that mostly runs and can’t throw well.

When we finally get a good passer, Tennessee can finally go in the right direction. It has been a long time since we had a great passer.
too bad we dont have a kid sitting on the bench that looks like a pretty good passer.

The HB cultists think he is the deus ex machina quarterback who will swoop in and save the day and tidy up all the loose ends. Nope. He'll play meaningful snaps for us in 2022 or later.
I want HB to play but i dont think he is jesus christ.
You just assume **** and make it up in your head.
I want HB to play cause Milton and Hooker suck. They can't pass.
HB can pass.
Its not like we have hooker and milton out their running for 3 TDs a game, so we wont lose **** in the running department by playing HB
and he 100 percent for a fact is a better passer than hooker or milton.
HB would make plenty of mistakes too.
but he would also hit those wide open receivers......

HB helped TN score 86 points in 6 games...we have already score 72 in 2 games..HB 3 yard check downs, sacks and fumbles dont produce points...he is a 90s style West Coast QB....needs a line to give h time

May develop. But not having a future all pro player in Gilbert to throw the ball up to makes a huge difference
Future all pro ? The guy isn't even playing dude. That is just bull. Arik Gilbert is a great talent but can't figure out where he wants to be. Or he has other problems. Darick Rogers comes to mind. That said I have seen some interviews that came straight from Gilbert about how good HB's ball placement was. As well as his other weapons. A qb's job is to deliver the ball, get the team in the right sets, trust his eyes and dont turn it over. For all the turnovers Bailey had in 6 games our other qbs have passed in 2 games. I get points but the dude hasn't played with THIS team. Last years team was bad.

Dude, you need to put yourself in check and trust the system. Just as Hurd was a better fit than Kamara in Tennessee's system under Butch Jones, Milton is the go-to guy in Butch Heupel's system. So cool it and trust the system. Butch Heupel is rebuilding the program Brick-by-Brick and Milton is the keystone, so just chill. Harrison Bailey may have completed most of his passes against top-25 teams, but Milton consistently throws passes 110% of the distance needed is the true Tennessee five star heart that we should all cheer, constantly doing more than is necessary.

It's cute how detached from reality you are. Enjoy it! But your little fantasy won't actually play out in the real world.

This is solid work.

Bailey is by far the most accurate passer of the 3....We have seen that accurate passing is what is winning most of the other games that have been televised, not throwing the ball 80 yards...

Hooker is a much better runner than passer, that is easy to see.....A great deal of his passing yards was a result of Tillman taking a 5 yard hitch pass and doing some great running, not the result of a long pass.

When Hooker was needed to make a pass play to keep the final drive alive, it was intercepted...

Why can't Bailey be given a shot? I know he can't do much with his feet. But, UT needs a ABOVE AVERAGE PASSER vs SEC teams!!!!! He was pretty effective throwing the ball against good SEC teams with a below average OL last year! I think he does even better behind the OL we have this year! I would be willing to bet anyone on this site $5,000 that neither JM or HH has anywhere close to 74.5 completion percentage and 0 Ints vs any 4 SEC teams on UTs schedule this year!!!!! CJH, PLEASE give the guy a chance!!!

(3 OF THEM BEING TOP 25 TEAMS)!!!!!

he has not been able to execute near as well as the other 2 in practice. They will shy away from him as long as he can't execute.

this OL is bad. He can't move. He would get eaten alive by SEC teams..

just like he did last year, huh?
i dont recall HB being eaten alive last year.
do i need to go rewatch the games for the 3rd time?
i clearly missed something important.

Simple Bailey is not the type QB JH needs to run his gimmick O so HB needs to transfer yesterday.

I don't want to say I've had enough, because we all know, there rarely is ever "enough". We may not like the **** sandwich, but we'll keep eating it. I actually think I'm worse than had enough. My care has slipped to such a low level, I find myself not even reacting to the game anymore. Positive or negative. I can't celebrate a good play. I just say, nice, or hopefully there will be more of that and the bad plays, I just blow out a bit of wind and roll my eyes. 5 years ago I was clapping hands, good job, or groaning in disgust, yelling about a bad call or mistake. 10 years ago, jumping up and down through the house on a touchdown, the neighbors hearing my celebration. A bad play, I just hope I don't break my TV. Fuming and ready to punch holes in the wall.

I've turned into essentially Kentucky or Vanderbilt fan, except my team is the Vols. That makes me very sad.

I knew when they went after Milton, Bailey was done. No chance. He's not their guy. I don't know what he can do, but I believe he is a better fit than even they can understand. Milton may possess all the physical talents and measurables. I think he lacks the one thing more crucial than everything else for this offense. Quick, confident, decisions. This offense is predicated on speed, not accuracy or perfection. The more perfect the better, but it isn't the trademark. Misses are allowable, when you're throwing hard punches. Unfortunately, Milton isn't quick. Hooker seems better, but I think he's limited outside of 20 yards, in time, defenses will tighten up and his effectiveness will diminish. I'm not saying Bailey is the answer or some NFL talent under used. I just see a guy who has the right internal clock to be quick and cocky. To throw that **** deep(enough) to be successful and more importantly, accurate more than not. He won't wow you with his legs, or bounce one off your forehead with his cannon. But I think he'll win more possessions than these other two. Unfortunately, we'll never know. This is like a guy who took the wrong turn with his wife in the car and now he can't pull over and ask directions without having to deal with the fallout from ignoring her earlier. Huepel went with his gut, and it may end up costing him where it counts most. Recruiting. Some of those high star HS players have been holding back to see what this team will be. And while improved, I don't see impressive enough to sway their interest any further. I hope I'm wrong and the Florida game is close, effective and exciting. I think it will be a blowout and a faltering stumbling mess by the 3rdQ.

I would just like to be emotional about my team again. I'm a campfire with dying embers and very little heat left fading away.

If you want to. I'm just telling you what the coaches are seeing. They will decide, not you or I.

Ya. Tennessee famously hires football coaches and staffs, hard-headed type dudes, that decide not to play to the player strengths they inherit when they arrive on Rocky Top (Bailey way too pro-style for Heupel's current daydream of fielding a high scoring run-and-gun offense). They don't know Tennessee from Adam when they arrive and haven't suffered the decade-plus of lost seasons and then come to believe they can sacrifice a few more seasons until their systems are fully implemented. Yeah: we're the program who hired coaches and staff who believed Alvin Kamara was second-string talent. Let's be clear here; Bailey doesn't fit Heupel's plan; therefore his proven ability and understanding that a thrown pass needs touch and sometimes air under the ball will not be utilized during this throwaway year for a new coach with amazing dreams for out future. And that's that.

yes it is our coaches decision.
he has already proven he is good at choosing the wrong QB.
but HB still performed better in his time last year then either of the other two have done so far.
he did not get eaten alive by SEC teams last year.
for a freshman with no spring, he played quite well.

im confused on what part of my post is fantasy. literally everyone here agrees milton is hot doodoo confirmed. and with our very eyes we have saw HB is a better passer than either of the others.
do you know how to read? or is it the word fantasy you dont understand?

"Literally everyone" in the eccentric and often dysfunctional community of Vol Nation does not constitute truth or reality. You're in an echo chamber, bro. It's okay. The blue pill is comforting to some. You do you.

Seems to me, there's something in practice the coach doesn't like. But then it brings to mind, Dobbs, he was horrible in practice, yet balled on game day. It's up to the coach to figure those mysteries out. Also, the old adage "the most popular person on the team is the back up QB," applies here.

I'm confused. Are you trying to defend milton or just argue?
either way..... lol nah.
you're straight silly.
