Harsin may be on the way out

Let’s cut to the chase:

1) if the affair is true, someone leaked it to get rid of BH & he’ll get fired or
2) if it’s not true, someone leaked it to get rid of BH and he needs to GTHO

Auburn has never fired a coach coming off an Iron Bowl win.
That's likely because most times they've beaten Alabama, they've had a really good season season overall. I wonder how many times Auburn has beaten Alabama but ended the season with a losing record.

IMO, the affair was leaked because it is true, and Auburn probably knows/can prove it is true. Someone hopes it can be the straw that breaks the camel's back and get him out of there.

Well, to that end, Auburn would have finished with a winning record if they'd won the Iron Bowl.

But they didn't. 😎

I clicked through the Wiki pages of Auburn's seasons back to Dye's first season. Every time Auburn has beaten Alabama, they at least had a pretty good team (8-9 wins). There wasn't a single year where Auburn stunk but beat Alabama. That's probably why they've never fired a coach coming off an Iron Bowl win. Makes total sense; it usually takes at least a pretty good team to beat Alabama in any given year.

That games means a lot, but I bet there is still an attempt to remove him even if he beat Alabama this year. They weren't anywhere near as good as people thought they'd be in the other games.

Call me crazy, but I think the natives are still restless even if he won that game. They still looked really bad down the stretch, and I bet all of these coaches and players who have left the program still would have left.
They might’ve been restless, but you can’t fire the guy that just beat Saban the first time he ever played him . Auburn already has a reputation, that would just add more fuel to the fire.

They had no problem firing a guy who had beaten Saban more than any other coach. Paid over $20m to do it too.

True, but he hadn’t lost to Minnesota or UCF the next week yet. One of Malzahn’s problem was that he was wildly inconsistent.

That's kind of my point though...beating Alabama is a gigantic win, but it isn't more important than all the other games you play that season combined. Gus, as inconsistent as he was, got a few over on Saban. More than you would think. But ultimately it didn't matter because, as you said, he wasn't good enough in the other games.

If he’s having a sexual relationship with someone that reports to him, that’s a major no no. Now if he had won 10 games this past season then they would probably just deal with it behind closed doors but any business, let alone a public university, is going to allow for something like that.

Is it specifically against state policy for him to sleep with another employee of the university? When I was at UT it was common knowledge that some professors slept with students. Someone reported it to our Dean and we learned there was NO policy against it. Is his behavior ethical ? Maybe not. Is it against the school policy? I don’t know.

It only really gets to being super unethical when they're sleeping with current students. With students that aren't in their class? Whatever.

At my employer (USF) you have to report this if the employee has any work affiliation with you (e.g. same department). If you have an affair with a student in your class, you’ll be reassigned. Not sure about a student outside of your class but bottom line, not a good idea in general for any faculty members.

Worth it.
??? Sorry but I ain’t seen any strange that was worth losing $10 million over. Or whatever it is he’s throwing away when Auburn cans him. Heck, they’ve just been looking for a reason. And when his wife gets done with him, he might be living in a van DOWN BY THE RIVER.

That young lady isn’t strange. You hit and quit strange.

He’s been grooming her as an official side piece for 3-4 years.

If you hire a personal assistant, put them on state payroll & end up in an affair with them, that is a violation of state personnel policy & subject to termination
