Harsin may be on the way out

The longer it goes with no lockdown from this young lady and no panic from Harsin, the more I think this might be all "booster smoke" and no fire.

Either way, someone put out a hit on Harsin.

Ugly, dysfunctional, and very very Auburn.

I take a slightly different stance...the reason someone put this rumor out there about Harsin and the girl is probably because it is true, or true to some degree.

If it was completely made up out of thin air, then the allegation could be quickly refuted and instead of the heat getting amped up on Harsin, he ends up getting sympathizers because it would be obvious there was some kind of movement afoot to railroad him.

...and to be clear...the rumor could be true and it still could be an an effort to railroad him. This is something that never sees the light of day if they had a better season last year and some big boosters liked him.

Don’t want to come off as holier than thou (bc I’m not) but some in here can do better, jmo. I think sometimes it gets personal a little too quick especially on the internet. I wouldn’t question someone’s parenting over them posting a public picture of someone on social media. It’s sad bc I feel like most that argue back and forth would likely get along fine in person over a beer having civil discussion. Internet is just so impersonal and uncivil.

You’re overestimating the power Harsin has. Harsin’s best maneuver is to win and then bail if he isn’t fired.

I do and my advice to her was don't put anything on the internet you'd be embarrassed for me to see or do anything in public you wouldn't want on the internet.

Harsin may want out, at this point, and be taking a "prove it or pay me" stance if he's innocent. I'd not blame him.

The lady, though. I'd think she'd be out unless it's true. If they're a couple, they'll pay her off not to sue for some kind of sexual harassment by a superior, but way less than the millions he'll get. If they're not a couple, I'd think she's out of luck completely and just getting humiliated for being essentially one of thousands of young'uns who TMI on social media but are mostly never publicized.

Might not have been her intent, but the page isn't set to private. It's currently out there for the entire world to see. It isn't like someone on the internet hacked her phone and leaked the pics or something.

It's definitely the kind of statement an organization puts out that is looking for a reason to fire someone. If they wanted to keep him, or wanted to make this go away, you just say he's your coach and move on.

And honestly, the fact that they are considering firing him in early February shows just how badly at least some folks there want him gone. This isn't an ideal time to be firing a coach, to put it mildly.

Or…the gal in question chose to expose those parts of her life, to literally anyone on the planet with access to a computer, tablet or smartphone.

As of this past weekend, her IG profile was still wide open for anyone to access.

I’m not making character judgments about her, but if she didn’t want people looking at or posting her pictures, she could have easily accomplished that.

I do think I would find a very gray area where I would toe the line between what might be legal and what might not be. Not meaning violence, but I’d find the sweet spot that would cause that person a lot of sleepless nights.

Auburn is very much a push-the-boundaries program, way more so than a program like UT, but I'm not sure if their big boosters would get the warm and fuzzies about Freeze and Kiffin, especially Kiffin, because I don't think they would be able to boss either one of them around. Kiffin and Freeze would come in with some power, influence, and a name of their own, given their coaching history, and Auburn's boosters don't like that. I think that is how Auburn's admin was able to sell Harsin to the boosters - he wasn't the boosters' first choice, but Harsin came in as very much an outsider and the boosters figured "Well, maybe we can sink our hooks into him."

Jimmy Rane (YellaWood guy) has supposedly been angling to get Kevin Steele made HC for about the last 5 years because he's personal buddies with him.

Harsin is completely outnumbered down on The Plains. He’s a Northwestern guy, he’s obviously ruffled a lot of feathers down there, I’m not sure exactly what caused the situation, but it’s never seemed like a good marriage from day one .

If this situation with the assistant is true, and I believe there is something there, I don’t know how you hire Freeze given his history. And While Kiffin’s antics haven’t been as widely publicized, everyone knows his stories and even someone like me who is well removed from Knoxville has heard private stories of some of Kiffin’s interactions with coeds on campus. I have zero business knowing anything about Lane’s personal life, but I know a guy who worked at his house when he was in college. I’m guessing there are a lot of guys like me that know a guy when it comes to Lane.

If Auburn does get rid of Harsin I would go the interim route and just try and regroup next year.
