No plans to fire Dooley until after the Debacle in Nashville. That's scary.

Wow.

Two weeks ago, 1/3 of this forum still supported CDD. Now no one does. His timing is perfect. He's still ahead of the end of the regular season and everyone in VolNation supports his decision.

To that point, none of the media folks really even questioned the fact that CDD was being fired.

After listening to him in the presser, I'm afraid we have an incompetent AD. Was not at ALL impressed. He left me with little hope. Kind of like a Dooley clone.

What makes you qualified to determine the competency of an AD?

(if it's beacuse he didn't say "we have our guy, he will be here tomorrow"...forget I asked, but if you have the qualifications I would like to know, as I do not have the qualifications, nor do I understand the intricate workings of an athletic department and would like a qualified opinion)

Head says we will screw this up but I think Hart deserves this chance to prove what he can do. Only thing that scares me is the time frame he eluded to.

Dooley has known he was to be fired since the USCjr game. Hart has been busy since then and has down his homework well. I look for an announcement to come shortly after Dec. 1 as to who it will be????

I loved his qualities for the new coach:
Has to know how to be successful/ had previous success
Know difficulty of climbing the ladder in the SEC
Have integrity- that is the #1 need of our athletic department.

No more Kiffin type of guys- continue with Dooley's integrity in the next coach- but get one who can coach these boys.

Any good athletic director has a list of potential coaching candidates tucked away in his desk for circumstances such as this.

That's why Hamilton was such a failure. He had to rely on outside search firms to do the leg work and was too stupid to branch out from the Sexton coaching tree due to his lack of experience and networking skills.

Hopefully, Hart has a good list ready.

I've learned to wait and see with UT, but I liked the presser. Hart didn't give me the sense that I was watching a bad used car salesman or cheap personal injury lawyer like Hamilton did time and time again.

Now, OP could be right and Hart could fumble this whole thing but I didn't get that sense from that conference.

This program is in good hands. I listened to every word Hart said and I was impressed. This guy knows what he is doing. I kept thinking of Hamilton (not a fair comparison, I know) and what a completely different league Hart is in.

Hart has been around. This ain't his first rodeo. He has a network and he is going to use it -- not go out and blow huge amounts of money on search firms on experiments.

If you're a big-time HC, you could come in and respect this guy. I could see any of the names being mentioned feeling comfortable calling this guy "boss."

Remember his network is Mal Moore!!! But I like this guy, and agree with you on this post!

How so?

December is 2 weeks away.

Thank you! Finally someone who is willing to consider that the process may take a couple of weeks, or more. Some of the names on Hart's list may be playing out the season, hoping for a bowl and do not want the distraction of talking with Hart right now.

Let's give Hart the time he needs to talk with potential candidates and make the right hire. He said that December is a critical month when it comes to having a coach hired.

He also said he has not talked with any candidates, out of respect for Dooley. I can respect that, because Hamilton worked behind Fulmer's back instead of supporting him, and we all see what that has bought upon the program.

I am not a Hart fan, but I liked the way he handled the presser and the answers he gave. I'm gonna give him a chance, and believe that we all should do so. If he takes the rope and hangs himself, well... that will be his doing. GBO!

Hart kept giving himself props for how many coaching searches he has done.

How many football coaches has he actually hired?

The OP got the exact opposite feeling I felt while watching. I got a sense of excitement and confidence while watching Hart.

We are on our ways back boys.
