I think he is a very good coach, but still growing. He needs to understand how to perform better on the road at this point. He does great in Neyland when he has the crowd or even in bowl games when the fan base shows up.
While I agree, it is nice to feel borderline invincible at home.

I was as wrong about him as I was right about Dooley, Butch, and Cornbread. I was as Nega as could be from 2010 until Heupel.

I think anyone that says they expected this level of success this quickly is lying.
I got sucked in on Jones, I admit. I knew we were ***&ed with Precious & Pruitt. Neither should coach above high school, and a desperate high school at that

I can tell you, matter-of-factly, I saw it coming. Heupel doesn't have an ego and appreciates the opportunity he has to coach one of the most tradition-rich programs in college football. The three dimwits before him had egos the size of Texas, which was their downfall from the beginning - they couldn't get out of their own way. I didn't attend a game in person for nearly 15 years since the Fulmer days, but when CJH was brought in, it felt different. I've since bought season tickets and look forward to the fall now every year more than ever. Was a long time coming.

Here's the thread where I proclaimed we finally got it right. Never did hear back from the two posters who put a wager on it: More heart than I have seen in 15 years
